A work unit I'm about to send off contains the following in the name: Ornithorhynchus-anatinus-(platypus)
So did my comp just spend 4 hours crunching platypus RNA?

I have Faba Bean Necrotic Yellow Virus and Friend Spleen Focus Forming Virus. Perhaps a nice Chianti would go well with them.

Registered on the Dirty Dogtanians Website and posted a Tanut with Landroid today
They may pick up and try to give us a run for our money. Feeling is that they won't though.

Currently they are fielding 34 active members to our 21. More Grist to our shubbers Please.
P.S. They want to take down our top Shrubbers DoW and John Galt. Lets support our top people please. _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?

Gem maybe you should consider lining your shrubbers up along the hall like this:
\...../
\...../
\...../
\...../
\...../ so they don't blow into each other. Then you could have them on 27/7
Foumula BIONC is down ATM so not able to give an update. However, earlier we had 54 points with only about 25k to gain 6 points. The Smelly hounds have gone up into 10th position giving them 1 point so far on this project.
WTG Musketeers
Gem you should overtake me an push me back into 4th position on the team tomorrow. WTG buddy
Your next goal should be to get into the top 100 which should be quite easy as you are going like a steam train
DoW...Prediction adjustment based on your current production rate is that you should now end up in the top 30 at around Numero 28. Lots of expletives at this point. That is pretty Awesome. In fact that is so fantastic that I want to wet myself _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?

Only slight problem I've noticed is the lack of check pointing, considering one task I got has an estimated 110 hour completion. Only thing, it's on a laptop, and at present, the laptop is following me to work 5 days a week, which means it isn't always up. From the look of it, the same task has re-started a few times. I've suspended the task for the time being....
Hopefully, it doesn't give any more long tasks, otherwise I won't be getting credit, without check pointing. Now CPDN has no problem with that, but then they trickle and regularly checkpoint, so progress can be made without being "always on". _________________

There's instructions in the RNA thread:
http://www.kwsnforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=16540
Set the manager to leave suspended apps in memory, suspend them, then hibernate rather than shutting down.
I wasted quite a few cycles myself before I found out.
The small WU's are actually bundles of very small WU's which create pseudo-checkpointing.

The other alternative is to suspend the WU's you need to and restart them when you are able to continue. If you suspend you are able to switch your puter off and start from the last point you shrubbed to. You can also close BOINC down with all of your projects intact once WU's have been suspended with no danger of losing Shrubbing time.
If you need to manage a lot of WU's you can use BOINC Tasks. Download from here:
http://www.efmer.eu/boinc/boinc_tasks/download.html
With this application you can both suspend all WU's in one go and restart them in one go.
Its pretty neat. _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?
