How do you know it isn't requesting tasks?
Mine still is:
10/2/2009 12:48:24 AM Milkyway@home Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
10/2/2009 12:48:24 AM Milkyway@home Reporting 24 completed tasks, requesting new tasks
10/2/2009 12:48:29 AM Milkyway@home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
10/2/2009 12:48:29 AM Milkyway@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance
But some projects, especially ones that have CPU and GPU apps, give me a conflicting message like:
Requesting new work.
Not requesting work.
One of them means GPU, the other CPU, but they aren't labeled hehe. <shrug> Like I said, 6.10.3 has been flawless for me. I've read bad things about every version up to the current, but this specific one has been rock solid for me. _________________

No errored WUs for me yet. Slow start though, since SIMAP actually had a decent amount of work. Most of my machines are still running down a few GenLife units heh. _________________

Simple, my client said to the effect
Quote: | Returning 3 (or 4, or 2, etc depending when it exhibited this behavior) work units, requesting 0 tasks |
whenever POEM was enabled, disable it, and it requested WUs again. POEM was just attached when Milkyway went down, so had no debt owed it, and Milkyway/POEM have equal resource share. With it disabled, it's always requesting new WUs (how many ever other projects are enabled, and then all other tasks were suspended with only 1 POEM result at start, which upped to 3, as the thing got used to them not taking long).
It's obvious... Though something that might be effecting people different is I'm taking it you crunch Milkyway on your GPU? I don't have a double precision gfx card, so have to process it on the CPU. As POEM runs on the CPU, for myself, and perhaps John they're competing for the same computing device (the CPU); which for someone using a GPU client (different processing device) wouldn't enter into the picture the same as if one was set to CPU process only. _________________

Yep yep. Any time I hear MW I think GPU.
As for CPU tasks, the scheduler is still broken. Maybe less broken in 6.10 but the debt idea itself doesn't work right, so how unbroken can it get really? _________________

Well generally speaking, the GPU Milkyway would be beter for credits, but with the optimized client it's pulling around 53 credits in just under 1.5 hours (it takes just over 2 hours on the stock), which averages about 35 credits/hour (stock would be 26/hour about for me here). POEM and others are around 12-14 credits/hour when I calculate it out, which is incidentally below several other projects such as cosmology@home which was closer to Milkyway's, but also with a 12-14 hour task. So even on the CPU only rendering, Milky helps balance out POEM's low return
Though yes, GPU rendering would be better in it, if one wasn't stuck on a gfx card that can't do the GPU rendering for it. Probably without Milkyway, to average it out, I wouldn't want to run any one which give < 20/hour _________________

SIMAP had a surprisingly large amount of work which led to a very slow bleed-down of GenLife work and subsequently a very slow POEM start for me relative to the previous POTMs.
You can see it's starting to pick up finally, and SIMAP is out of new work (still some trickling stuff and validation stuff later) so it should start picking up even more soon. _________________

Too late to taunt SETI.USA, we just passed 'em - 20th place! Crunchers are next, but we'll probably pass them in a few hours. Perhaps an upside down taunting of Boinc.Australia? Can we turn the foot stomp smiley upside down so they understand it?
Milestones yesterday:
Sir Brian - err sorry - wrong film! passed 850,000
John Galt 007 passed 400,000
JerWA passed 50,000
stooper101 passed 10,000
Sir Grawlfang passed 4,000
