Much as I hate to admit defeat, today, after nearly 200 hours of crunching, it decided that I'd completed about 3% of it.
Enough is enough. Who do they thing they are, doing this kind of thing to people?
SETI is why I crunch in the first place! It satisfies part of my soul, I cancelled all other projects and devoted 100% of my PC to it and the only result is a waste of time, electricity and one pissed off volunteer.
I unchecked the AP boxes.
Mostly in sorrow.

Golly, that sucks.
BTW, are you running optimized apps? Would you consider another project like Milkyway? _________________

I've found that it is pretty much the opposite, in real time, with Astropulse WUs _________________

Well, you could if the math didn't keep changing while the WU was running, which is how it always seems to work with Astropulse WUs. _________________

I hear you. If you stop BOINC entirely before updating the client, it should be fine. _________________

I will lose about 350 hours of crunching in case it won't work... I'll try to backup everything before I do that, but if it won't work and I won't be able to restore it anyway, I will blame you and punish you by sending Sir Fart to release his bowels in your general direction _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

My first (and only) AP WU ran 109 hours, 59 minutes and 42 seconds. My estimate of 111 hours came pretty close. But I will not tie up one of my cores (I have only 2) on an AP unit again. I am now crunching the old multi-beam units and they list at 6+ hours, but I manage to get them out in about 4. I don't know what the folks at SETI are thinking with the AstroPulse B.S. I agree with those of you who are pi$$ed. A visit from Sir Fart to SETI is definitely in order!
