Well overall it took 2 years and 20 attempts to finally get one done but I got one done in just under 3 months!!!!!

Congratulations on your persistence and it's just reward.

I gave up CPDN when my (I think) 10th attempt had got up to a heady 10% complete, then errored out on a re-boot.

It was actually 27 attempts.

Anyway, my success was due to crunching only climateprediction, daily backups (which I didn't need) and making sure I suspended the task and exited BOINC before doing anything CPU intensive such as playing games.

I've been lucky. I have over 30 completed models, since 2005. I've lost a few. Some were because they forced resets, a couple were because of bad units. I rarely lost any from any type of other issue.

Forgot to mention I also had BOINC in it's own partition on my secondary HD and had a designated SWAP partition on the primary.

Anyway, I'm back to crunching 8 different projects at a time Very Happy

Even got some LHC wus
