Join quickly before Free-DC and Synergy take all the open spots.
The KWSN team name is "The Knights Who Say NI!"

Actually, the only capitalization that showed up is " The Knights Who Say Ni!" on their board, but you're in it with Java (who created it) and the rest...
And yes, synergy no doubt has enough crunchers. Time for us to get some more in em spots |

Well attach this project in your BOINC Manager and wait for work. Remember this is still a beta'alpha/some other stage project. So there will be bugs and problems but the worse problems in my opinion are behind this project. The main one I see is a scheduler problem.

Their servers appear to be down, as I can't report some work (or make a bug report), with this:
Quote: | 6/20/2006 4:48:31 PM|malariacontrol.net beta|Sending scheduler request to http://www.malariacontrol.net/malariacontrol_cgi/cgi
6/20/2006 4:48:31 PM|malariacontrol.net beta|Reason: Requested by user
6/20/2006 4:48:31 PM|malariacontrol.net beta|Reporting 6 tasks
6/20/2006 4:48:53 PM||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
6/20/2006 4:48:54 PM||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down.
6/20/2006 4:48:54 PM|malariacontrol.net beta|Scheduler request failed: couldn't connect to server
6/20/2006 4:48:54 PM|malariacontrol.net beta|Deferring scheduler requests for 6 minutes and 30 seconds |
But people can keep trying to join, to see when it's back up I guess. They should be up again sometime...
Basically, a Windows Vista beta issue where clearing something outa the recycle bin resulted in Windows Explorer not responding, I logged off. When BOINC started up again, Malaria kept trying to loud a couple WUs as the system was logging me off, with a single user instillation of BOINC... Looks like that happened to 4, and there was 1 WU in progress that has 1 min crunch time.
But yeah, once one's signed up, just go to attach project, and use the project URL that is given in their email, same as was done with Rossetta. |

You can join the group from the web page before attacking BOINC to it, or after. I think you might need to wait for their servers to come back up again, as the website is also down.
I'm getting a sneaking suspiscion that the extra load from all the new users signing up might have swamped the thing and problems were run into. But these are the sorts of problems they need to discover during the beta, given that signups after it is released will bring much higher load.
Go to this URL
http://www.malariacontrol.net/
and when it's accessible, then attach following imcrazynow's directions |

Precisely. And yes, they've been down the majority of the afternoon. (PST) Once the backlog clears up I think they'll be fine. The important thing is to get your accounts created while you still can. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

Malaria is back up again...
So, sign up while you can... Given no notice of 2,000 users being reached, signup is still open
Edit: Just checked:
http://www.malariacontrol.net/server_status.php
Still plenty of room following the outage yesterday, if there's anyone who wants to join, who didn't get in yesterday morning |

And here I was going to report the Malaria website shows 862 registered users. See what I get for looking at other pages before posting.
With a limit set at 2k, I'd say it should be possible to join up till the weekend. Saturday or later is anybody's guess. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

Signup was slow, so I'm guessing it will be open for a bit longer.
Just so BOINCsynergy doesn't get all the remaining spots |

I'm running 14 BOINC projects right now, and that's after dropping CPDN, SETI Beta, and BURP. I won't even go into all the other (8+) projects. _________________ When in doubt, kick it until it works. |
