I submitted my rental web site to webcrawler and it was never in any search engins, I just submitted it to 123Ehost and I hope I have better luck. Now for all you computer geeks out there, which is the best place to go and submit a web site that will get attention and not cost me my last leg? Oh and not be hard to set up? _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance.

No I have hosting at GoDaddy, I need a realiable place to put the web site into search engines. webcrawler is the pits, they charged me a lot of money and never did anything. It has been 6 months and it does not show up when you do a search. I want it to pull up when you put different search words in. I placed over 200 search words just for that reason.
I want people to be able to find the rental log cabin when you put in any of the words I submitted. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

Some search engines will bump you down in the rankings if you use the same word too many times. They assume (sometimes correctly) that you're trying to manipulate your ranking.
Also - enter your URL as a google search. At the bottom of the search page, if it doesn't come up, click the "Dissatisfied? Help us improve" link and enter your URL in the space provided for URL not listed in the results. |

I wouldn't use more than about 5 different keywords. Things like log, cabin, rental, vacation, and maybe property. Also, you might try doing link exchanges with other related sites. It sounds odd, but linking to you competitors and getting links from them helps your search engine rankings. What's your site? _________________ KWSN Forum Admin

I PM'd you the web site. webcrawler wanted 200 key words and never did anything with it. I hate spending money and getting nothing for it. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

Our sites have always done good sumbitting to the free search engines, google, yahoo etc.. Once submitted it can take a bit for them to start appearing but now when you search for our dealership we are normaly right at the top. On most search engines.
Also it helps to have other sites linked to your website so in your signature on a message board trawled by search engines helps or websites your affiliated with like gm.com etc... _________________ Smoke-em if you got-em I do.. |

Alpha...
There are tricks too. Make sure you have meta data with your keywords listed before the body of your main page, then make DARN sure that those keywords appear in the text of your page, hopefully near the "top". The search engines look for the meta data, then check its validity by reading your page. You really shouldn't have trouble getting crawled, but without something for the engines to index, you'll definitely fall through the cracks. _________________ now, where was I??? |

My friend that built the web site did put meta tags in, it's just we found out yesterday that webcrawler is a rip off, they will not ever refund any money for their nothing work. So don't anyone ever use them, we have used GoDaddy for a long time and webcrawler is an affiliate of theirs, we did let them know about nothing ever happening with us using them for a crawler.
Thanks for all the help, if anyone wants to see the web site let me know. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

What type of website is it? Do you build other sites? Inquiring minds want to know... _________________ Sir Latch of the Highlands

No, I don't build web sites, my friend did it for us. I did build one for my doggie a long time ago.
This new site is for our rental Log Cabin. If you would like to see the site I will send it to you.
My doggy's web site is

How will I be able to tell if my folding is working? Is there anything specific I should be looking for?
The status is(123/400), is this good? _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

Sod that, I'd be more worried about your "doggies site going down" - it's important for a dog to have his little bit of the interweb. Yup, bottle almost gone now AF and Sir Spud
