Hello fellow Kaniggits!

We've had a lot of spammers for a long time here, but my feeling has been that the problem was kept somewhat in check by the mods deleting the spam posts.
The last few weeks however, the spam has been piling up faster than I've had time to delete it.
I'm not sure if this is because of an increase in the number of spam posts or if some other mod has stopped deleting a share of the posts, but either case the spam makes it difficult to see actual posts and I think the problem has gone out of control.

In a desperate attempt to keep the forum clean I locked down most of it. My reasoning is that pretty much no one is posting anything anyway, and by blocking the spam we can keep the forum available for oldies wanting to browse old posts and remember the old times.

While attempting to clean out all the spam posts I accidentally managed to delete all topics in the "New and Departing Members" section. For this I am truly sorry.

I will leave the "New and Departing Members" topic unlocked for people to post comments and snide remarks about moderator incompetence, and I will try to keep it as free from spam as I can.

I've also disabled new account activation since we have not gotten a real new member in months. If someone shows up somewhere wanting to join. PM me or one of the other mods and we/I will manually add them.

Thank you, Sirs Mildew & bpowe!!! I just started shrubbing again a few months ago after almost 10 years, and I was so sad to see the castle overrun with spambots! I bumbled around here for a couple weeks before I happened upon another knight. He suggested questing for a page in the mysterious "Book of Faces" but I have heard nary a "Ni!" since I sent message hence. I can see we are still producing vast amounts of shrubberies, Is there nowhere the kWSN convene in these dark times?
