Amicable Numbers
Amicable Numbers is an independent research project that uses Internet-connected computers to find new amicable pairs. You can contribute to our research by running a free program on your computer. Current goal of the project is to find all amicable pairs with smallest member < 2 ^64.
All new findings are published regularly on the Amicable pairs list page.

DENIS uses volunteer hosts to compute large packets of cardiac electrophysiology simulations. ... Electrophysiological models are a powerful tool to study the electrical activity of cells under normal or pathological conditions. These models can also help predict the effects of drugs in heart and brain cells. These models are complex and it’s neccessary to simulate them many times (varying the conditions or model parameters). For this reason, researchers in this field usually require high computational power. We have created DENIS as a simulation infrastructure to help researchers.

Drug Discovery
Right now we are developing methods for polyharmacological drugs development. Dual-targeting drugs. As case study is taken goal to develop Tankyrase and PI3K inhibitors for treatment of colorectal cancer. This is relevant to other cancers as well. Especially are targeted those cancers, which have cancer stem cells actively involved and cancers on metastasis stage.

I signed up for DENIS, i haven't shrubbed there for a while so its' time to stop by. I signed up for Amicable Numbers, too.. sounds like a likable bunch and they're brand new, starting today, good time to snag a fashionably low user number.

Helping with debugging is good karma. I've come from the jungles of R&D and alpha testing is really where the action is. And I'm also the guy who's the one vote for Leiden Classical in the CPU POTM - learning is alot of fun and something close to my heart.. it's a good feeling to help out.

I have attempted to sign up for the brand new numbers project and it tells me i am entering an invalid email even though it is the same I have signed up with on every other project. Not sure what sort of coconuts are already being thrown around over there

If you want another Alpha project, here's Sourcefinder - a development project supporting SkyNet POGS. Sourcefinder is about testing the performance and quality of the Duchamp Sourcefinding application. We've built a simulated cube of the sky containing various radio sources, and it's the job of Duchamp to work out where the sources are. We plan on running Duchamp over the whole cube of simulated data to work how many of the radio sources in the cube it can find. Duchamp will need to be able to identify correct sources while keeping false positives to a minimum.

Here are some Alpha project updates. Does anyone have comments on these, how are they shrubbing - are they worth continued interest in the future?

Amicable Numbers
KWSN has shrubbed almost 500K points and is in 15th place. KWSN has been in Top 10 for daily production for the past few days. The Project is searching numbers up to 2 ^64. That's an astonishingly huge number - the ancient story of rice grains and a chess board may help us visualize it. Does anyone know if we'll be done with this task by the end of this century? Ni!

Production has increased significantly to 13K yesterday, but can we get more LUV on this one too? This project involves cancer. The Stomp Factor is gigantic on this project - KWSN has passed 18 teams this week and could pass several dozen more if we continue to increase shrubberations. Currently in 63rd place.

Denis has had intermittent issues with submitting units to the servers, seems to be ok right now but not sure if it is totally fixed. Amicable uses multithreading to crunch units so it has a habit of hogging your cores until it has finished, but the point output is decent. I'm running everything except the new pogs thing because the website was freaking out the other day when i tried to join and i haven't had time to try again yet.

Found 6 amicable number pairs, but they're 17-21 or so digits long..so they're cool, I guess, but too long to remember for pins/passwords. And scored a nice 10k badge from drugdiscovery@home, too.

How about adding stop@home to the list? We can jump ahead before the unwashed masses start to filter in.
