KWSN's team page still shows the orbiting fortress link as http://www.kwsn.net/ which leads to "Dein online Ratgeber" now (why the heck did they pick that URL?).
[KWSN]John Galt 007 is listed as the man who can change things. I leave it in your tin-plated gauntlets.

Thank you good knight! Wait a moment, that sounds like I'm off to sleep ... zzzzzzz .... ha! hey, I was right!
Now to get back to taunting "Dein online Ratgeber" - taking our URL indeed! A quest! A quest!

I hope we can get a new link posted on the team pages. I also miss the stats. I used them regularly _________________ lawgres |

Since nobody seems to read the SETI KWSN section, I am posting this here as well.
Jimbocous writes: Quote: | Sure wish I could get validated to the KWSN message boards. Been trying since early summer, and never get a response to email requests for help. Maybe here? BOINCStats says I've contributed more credit to the team than 72% of users, but I can't get validated???
18 months later; no change . . . |
There is no understandable answer to this problem.
This PM Jim sent me in response to a thank you note sent by me for participating in the SETI Wow! Challenge:
Quote: | Sorry, won't be there for next year. After 18 months of getting nowhere trying to get validated for access to the KWSN forum I gave up and joined another team. The KWSN new member process is really broke and there's no welcoming vibe going out for new members.
Regards, Jim ... |
And now you have given up and left KWSN. After waiting more than a 2 years and even joining us on the SETI Wow! challenges, nobody saw fit to help you get signed on to the forum. That is a shame.
I had troubles joining that forum as well. Many others have had the same experience as you. It's not a good sign when the registration process has been broken for years and there is no response to pleas for help. (this is not an isolated incident)
To add damage to harm done;
The "Founders" can't find time to have the website kwsn.net removed from any of their Projects where it is listed. The KWSN stats site advertised in many boinc Projects is no more but instead of having it removed from the various Project information pages, the link directs to a page saying it has been dropped. Would it not be better to eliminate the link from the Projects???
There just doesn't seem to be anybody reading thie KWSN forum section on SETI.
I do understand that distributive computing is a volunteer thing. When one is tired of volunteering, at least pass the responsibility on to another who can carry on. Founders of BOINC Projects should be paying attention to the project they volunteered for. Founders should take active interest for the good of the team and PARTICIPATE in Project challenges and help solve issues with the Projects they have volunteered to lead.
This does not seem to be the case here at SETI or with any of the few Boinc projects I have joined.
just for referrence: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=30195
click on a few of those links.
If this all sounds like a newbee whining ... it is. I wasn't here 6, 8, or 15 years ago. _________________
