I've got some subsetsum ... sounds like a Thai meal ... do we get rice with that and is that where the snails and slugs have gone to? Project Escargot! _________________ a monster can be excused for his behaviour . . . The problem is not how a monster could do it, but how a human being did it.

Quote: | Given that it was taking way too long for the DNA@Home workunits to clear out I canceled every workunit that didn't have any jobs out being crunched. Once I get back from vacation I'll get fixed credit up and going with a lot of new DNA@Home work.

What is this "thing" where admins jack up a project just before leaving or during vacation? They don't seem to "get it": as multijumpers' equation indicates, crunchers immediately flee to other projects and may not come back for weeks or months. Here's another update indicating he probably won't be back 'til July 1. DNA will be down and tweets won't be validated 'til after then.
The PotM curse strikes again!
Quote: | Just a heads up to everyone, I'll be driving to NY tomorrow for my annual island camping adventure. It'll be a two day drive (so I will be able to check forums tomorrow night and Sunday night), but starting Monday I'll be out camping on a beautiful island on Lake George in the Adirondacks. I'll have some cell phone service but limited battery so I will not be able to check the forums very frequently. I'll be off the island June 29th, so I apologize for any slow responses while I'm enjoying a little bit of rest and relaxation off the grid. Hopefully nothing explodes while I'm gone!
Once I get back we have quite a few cool updates for the CSG -- a new Wildlife@Home project involving ducks and another Wildlife@Home project involving images from the Hudson Bay, Canada and from around North Dakota involving motion sensor camera traps.
I apologize for not getting the Climate Tweets validator up and running this week, that will be on the top of the to-do list for when I get back from NY.

Sorry, but SubSetSum doesn't interest me at all. I have been working the Tweet project, it's actually rather addicting once you get into the groove. Not sure I'm bored enough for birdie videos yet, but want to try it. _________________

So KWSN's habit of breaking the toys it plays with continues ...
PS- Hey, I just a DNA work unit! A snaily nr 2033888 - might be a dud though going around and around. _________________ a monster can be excused for his behaviour . . . The problem is not how a monster could do it, but how a human being did it.

Has this also been an issue in past darker ages ???
It seems that:
Once a project has been chosen by KWSN as PotM ... it is doomed to be unceremoniously tossed into the Gorge of Eternal Peril at some point during that month.
I thought maybe it was just me or lack of medications. |

'Tis the power of the Ni! Just see how reliable SETI is after years of Ni! Even before there was a PotM there was the power of the Ni! Let me quote from the King James version of the Bible, John 1"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was Ni!" There you go, would an old creation myth lie?
Either that or it's a gypsy curse.

yes, the subsetsum validator is not running *sss_validator (subset_sum)=Not Running
However, there is plenty of SubsetSum work available.
I am excited to see just how many pending WU's I can build up with only one CPU.
I have never known Travis not to keep his word and he continues to treat the volunteers fairly.
It may take a while to straighten it all out once someone kickstarts the validator. _________________
