Are you already attached to it? If not then give it a reboot. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I was attached to Einstein, have over 500K points, but I "removed" it recently for tech reasons. Now no luv - I think it hates me, won't let me re-attach even after reboot etc... Try opening cmd (if you run windoze) or Terminal if you run Mac OS X and type Code: | $ boinccmd --project_attach http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ account_key | [Enter]
where the account_key has to be replaced by the account code you can find on your Einstein Account page.

If that doesn't work go into your boinc data directory and make sure the file Code: | account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml and job_log_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.txt and master_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml and sched_reply_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml and sched_request_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml and statistics_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml | are not present. Then go into the projects directory and make sure the directory Code: | einstein.phys.uwm.edu | is not there. If any of them show up make sure to delete them. If you have to delete anything restart boinc and then try to re-attach to Einstein. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

branjo, I couldn't get that command line to work, it said "boinccmd is not recognized as an internal or external command". It also didn't like the $ prefix. Is something missing?
Yankton, I did find one file to delete, restarted boinc, but still no luv - it just hangs saying "communicating with project", then times out...

When you open cmd.exe, you have to change directory to C:\Program Files (x86)\boinc, but I guess it will works also in path C:\Program Files\boinc (eg. if your path is C:\Windows\System32 you have to type 2 times (to exit to the path C:\), then Code: | cd program files (x86) | and then when you are in the right directory, type (or C&P) Code: | boinccmd --project_attach http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ account_key | (yes, it is w/o "$" character ) - it is working for me with BOINC 7.4.27, Win7 SP1 64b.
Cheers and GL _________________

Code: | boinccmd --project_attach http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ account_key |
OK after navigating to the C:\program files\boinc directory and about a dozen tries, that finally worked! Problem was I didn't have a space in front of the account key. I never have gotten along very well with the finickiness of command line, one reason I gave up on trying Linux.
OK so now I'm attached, but Einstein still won't give me any work from this new app. Not sure what the following means, probably have too many WUs for other projects, will keep trying...

Yes, selected only that one. I suspect I have too many WUs to complete. For example 175 FiND@Home ready to report, but server down for maintenance. |

Precisely! Try keeping only E@H in your list, so you can get some of them.
