Just a few of my "pet" projects.
CPDN:
Total Tasks ready to send 2
After reading their news, it looks like they are migrating their servers off the old one onto a virtual server at Oxford. This looks like it could take a while.
They have always been plagued with space issues, maybe this migration will help and then we can see this project back at full steam again when it's moved.
DDM:
Web services are slow. It looks like we have #1 spot there by 2.5Mil. Thanks to HoC for working that project regularly to keep our numbers pretty good. There is several teams with lots higher RAC, but it will take them a while to catch up.
YoYo:
:ooks like they have Harmonious Trees, OGR-27 and Odd Weird Search all winding down. Odd Weird Search will return with a new set, but it means a new application. ECM, Muon and Evolution look strong. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)
My lucky numbers are 121*2^4553899-1 and 3756801695685*2^666669±1

Seems a bit silly to walk into a separate Android PotM because...
1. The credits produced are pretty small compared to the average CPU output (core for core), and won't make a huge difference in our standings in the BOINC world.
2. There are still a limited number of projects with WU available for the Android.
3. I'm using my 2 devices to add a few hours to certain projects in WUprop as they take forever to finish and really add up hours.
I'm not likely to change over to projects that I already have big hours in... (like SETI @ 15,000+ will be on the back burner for a while for the Android / NativeBoinc)
Just a reminder for those with the coconuts: There is a theskyNet POGS team challenge in February at BoincStats that we are entered in with 22 other teams.

Wish I could figure out how to root my Android and make it use both processors correctly. It says two, but runs as a single and swaps the work. If I run a single unit it runs almost twice as fast. I've tried several ways with no luck. I keep it at running two even though it takes twice as long, because I'd rather have the 48 hours shrub time a day than 24. |

No thanks. Problem is the phone is somewhat a bastard in the Android world. I may be looking for a new unit sometime soon. I actually no longer really need the phone and may be looking at a tablet instead. |

Sounds like Sir Bear has Eddard's phone which is unfortunate. Didn't those giant tablet phones start in the UK, i guess they have invaded now _________________

I started the switch. I am porting my number to a virtual number, as I physically do not need the phone anymore. Once the number is ported and I cancel the service I will then use the phone as a trade-in for a tablet with 4 processors. |

Dad's phone? I thought we'd buried it with him, just in case. Looks like he's dug himself out again. I blame the army, all those trenches...
As a lad I warned Guglielmo it would all end badly, he was working just down the road in the South Foreland Lighthouse. He spent most of the time with a telescope trying to watch young French ladies, across the Channel, in their swimming costumes.
Back to the subject, I'll give it some time if I ever finish all these Cosmology work units. Every little helps they say, but they might be lying. _________________

OK, so I cancelled service on my HTC Vivid. Now to try sell it. I guess I could crunch wireless until I get rid of it and just run a factory rest when I am done.
There are some 8 core tablets out there, but it seems they are only available overseas at the moment. I have been looking at several units and I am surprised at some of the price differences. Too many CPU types to get a good handle on it, so I am asking for a little help.
What Android (I do not want Win8) tablets do you have experience with, do you recommend it, and why?
Thanks. |

I bought an ASUS TF700T-C1-GR 10.1-Inch Tablet 64gig for my wife about 10 months ago. The processor is just 4 core and certainly isn't all that fast.
I got it because ASUS is a brand I have always had great luck with for my motherboards and this model of tablet had pretty good specs... And NO Windoz 8.
I got the detachable keyboard (with it's extra battery capacity), on sale at a different place than I got the tablet. I bought the tablet from NewEgg because the shipping was free and they had the best price. One of the best features has been it's ruggedness and the "Gorilla Glass" used for the screen. My wife slams her fingernails into the screen and drops it on the floor or driveway on an almost daily basis. I only use 3 cores to run NativeBoinc and have it plugged into the charger when not in use. With the Boinc running and not on the charger, the battery only lasts about 6 hours... without NativeBoinc running, the pad with keypad attached lasts about 14 hours. I have absolutely no complaints about it... and more importantly, my wife likes it.
I didn't buy it here. but here is a description:
