From the Boinc forums:
Quote: | I have an approximate schedule for the move of qmc@home from Münster to Bonn now. There will be no new work units after the ones currently left on the server. Roughly at the beginning of October we will shut down the server in Münster. We will then make a break until the end of October before we officially start again with the new server. This is because I would like to use the opportunity to clean up all the stuff left over from several years and run some tests on the new server. Unfortunately all users have to change to a new project URL at some point, but I hope to be able to keep the old one working for some time. The new project URL is qmcathome.org (to avoid similar problems in the future), but there's no content on that page yet. |

Already heard about this... What remains to be seen is if it will be the same project, or a new one, aka rankings will be grandfathered to this one. It's certainly possible to change servers/locations, FreeHAL for instance. But I've heard some of the stuff they're getting from DA is like gosh...., suggesting to them they'll need to create a new project for what they want to do. Which includes not only new servers, but also expanding what we'd be crunching.
If that's the case, they probably should speak directly to FreeHAL's, WUprop's, and other projects own admins for advice. We'll see what comes of it all, aka if people can continue building from current credits, etc _________________

I rejoined today. All old credits are shown and I have just downloaded work, so it looks as if it is a continuation of the old program. _________________

Still no reporting to BOINC via XML stat file...
No message boards...
I re-attached to the Project and got several more of those tedious, long WU's "cleanmobility.now v6.06 " (I am getting minimal checkpointing)...
The WUprop program counts the hours ,, My local client counts the credits ,, Are they always going to be just "my little secret" ???
Will my credits earned on this "Test" be added to the reportable credits when (and if?) they start up again???
So.... How long does a "Beta Test" usually last???
When will this one come back out of "Beta Test Mode"???
Has anyone calculated the trajectory yet???

It won't let me quit. Still no message board either. Seems like it's dying a slow death. _________________

With our Team being the Number One Team, I'm sure they'll find a way to just place us
back up there in the new Database - Is it some sneaky maneuvers by another Team
to usurp the Throne?
Stay tuned, boys n grrls...

Everything is so broke-ass over there, is anyone shrubbing QMC? No message board, stats not being exported, had to reset my pwd, and no teams?
http://qmcathome.org/
Free DC still lists us in 43rd place:

We were one of the very top Teams, if not THE top, computing for you in years past
I am happy to see we are again able to help, but the work we do for you now is NOT shown!
The Database has some error, and for months we simply overlooked it, hoping it would be fixed soon
Now that we are again 'number-crunching' for you, we need to KNOW our efforts are being credited to our Team
I realize you have a lot to do, but you need to realize all us volunteers are in need of recognition here
It is, after all, OUR efforts that help you, yes?
PLEASE find the time and resources to fix this error
Thank you
Garry S Shelton

The Free-DC link only displays ancient Data
I have over 5,000 and I'm not even listed
That means it was before I reached the top 100 in the team BEFORE the move in 2012 |

I am really getting concerned about continuing an Overdue WU when our only recourse is sending EMail to the Director...
