Correlizer is our PotM for September. One good reason to shrub it: KWSN is weak in the DC Vault category of bio and medical sciences and Correlizer is our lowest score in that area:

Quote: | Genomes are fantastic keepers of genetic information and are the outcome of evolutionary replication, mutation and selection. ...The sequential organization of genomes, i.e. the relations between distant base pairs and regions within sequences, and its connection to the three-dimensional architectural organization of genomes is still a largely unresolved problem. Correlizer has been set up to unravel these mysteries...

Back up Project: Asteroids
Correlizer can be sporadic on WU's (only one available now?) so Asteroids is the back up project for September...
Quote: | The project Asteroids@home was started with the aim to significanly enlarge our knowledge of physical properties of asteroids. The BOINC application uses photometric measurements of asteroids observed by professional big all-sky surveys as well as 'backyard' astronomers.

Stay the course on Correlizer, WU's will come...
REMINDER: Check your team affiliation on Asteroids. Last time I shrubgbed it, we were helping out team Seti.USA. I just now quit that team and re-joined the real one. By the way, might as well get Asteroid stats listed, looks like we'll by shrubbing a lot of it this month...

Me too. 56 "download error" with the first batch.
Same problem as was happening last April. Oh well, at least it didn't waste CPU time.
Edit: 122 download error on one day on single machine. I hope this isn't messing up a "wingman" or causing problems for others.

No work from Correlizer, Asteroid WU's failing download, and no GPU WU's from Poem! I'm shrubbing FightMalaria CPU and Prime Grid GPU at the moment, chasing that elusive 2nd star in WU Props...

The failing downloads are fairly irrelevant,,(I think). I just keep pushing the 'update' button and it sends me good ones and kills the failures.
Have not had a problem keeping Poem work for the GPU, but to be honest, I've been doing 50% Milkyway just to get some of my "RAC" back that was killed with a month of SETI.
I do like the Asteroids new (sse3) WU's that pay the same for 44 minutes what the 2.5 hour WU's were paying. (not certain how long that will last,, there is talk of cutting the credits for those).
Every little credit counts for me with one machine and only 4 CPU cores.
Edit:
There is a problem and a solution for the Asteroids... grab those "bad files" as many as you can because they have decided to "Purge" them by failing them 20 times each to get rid of them....
So,, update, update , update.... etc., etc. , ad infanitum.
see:
http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/forum_thread.php?id=119
Help out the Asteroids program by failing as many downloads as possible... only 676,402 to go !!!

Moving the server should be during the next week. I don't know exactly what day but I will keep you notice 2 day before. |
That should bugger things up sufficiently. _________________

It's worse than you think, better than you thought.
Asteroids had a 'power failure' yesterday and the planned server migration has been moved to possibly next Wednesday, Sept. 19. |

Asteroids went away on the 20th to change servers..... so I grabbed a bunch of files a few days before...
Now I've got them done and am sitting on around 80 WU that are due returned on 26th & 27th.
Asteroids is still down. I'm getting nervous. Silly me. What was I thinking.
How's that Correlizer doing? _________________
