What you are looking at is an "ALLIANCE" named The Knights Who Say Ni! started at the Skynet POGS by mtnbkrt20 on 26th of June, 2013 when POGS switched websites.
The "ALLIANCE" is NOT the same as a BOINC Team. Both the BOINC Team The Knights Who Say Ni! and the Alliance of the same name exist at Pogs.
Confused yet???
You will be soon enough, just wait !!! _________________

Well, I chose the one with the " ! " Exclamation Point - It is our 'Proper' name, after all...
We have 'us' on both teams - You and I are on different 'Alliances', Johnny... _________________

Awwwww Jeeeze
Now I am Confuzed & Befuddled & One of Less Clue.
I agree with Sir LanDroid ... Let's taunt at random.
Those elderberry fartin' shrubbers.
I have corrected the situation for myself:

I posted on the POGS board... (I bet they ban me just for being annoying.)

I think it will probably fall on deaf ears and blinded eyes, but it was worth a shot. If everyone is as confused as me, (is that even possible?), then they will have no end to the silly questions. _________________

They (tSN.POGS) could have made it more confusing and difficult had they tried.
Thank goodness they didn't try.
We shall have to keep an eye on it all and advise each person...

Some Gamers use the name, adding to the confuzzlefication
That is, if a Gamer group of Knights joined the Nereus bunch, and made a Team (then before us) and chose
The Knights Who Say Ni
(Note, no "!" Point)
Then others like Papa Smurf and JumpingJohnny might join there, not realizing it _IS_ a different bunch!

This is the one Mifun made before the Beta Website confuzzlefication

is a BOINC Team which still exists. (I think they are trying to merge with the new site but are not having success.)
is a POGS Alliance
which also exists and has the team info only as a total score.
The problem, (in my small mind), is that they want to use both terms: Team and Alliance and BOINC users are baffled by the change. |

Maybe someone should PM the Admin of POGS and ask him to unite the teams. _________________

Those are not "teams", they are "alliances" .... If you join one of them , and have not also joined a team, your credits will not show up on any BOINC stats anywhere.
The only BOINC team is on the original website. OK ??
SOoooo , Hold yer Hauses. things may change.
Here is what I wrote earlier today and the response.

The big problem and source of confusion... which will continue to be the root of confusion and misunderstanding, is the use of "Alliances" and "Teams" that are NOT the same thing. This is unfortunate but will continue to confuse the users -- (read volunteers) who you are asking to change their way of thinking and terminology to fit your own definitions. It will not help to explain your reasons or explain your definitions to one volunteer because each new, (and some old) person will most likely be confused by the same mixing of definitions over and over again. This is unnecessary frustration for both you and them.
In my opinion, if you insist on having Alliances as well as Teams, then you should use the TEAMS for the BOINC only because that is what All of those users are used to, and have your Alliances just for Nereus users. That much separation would at least help a little.
ALSO .. Perhaps stop allowing new TEAMS and Alliances to be named exactly like another existing TEAM or Alliance by simply dropping a punctuation. Consider the whole thing from your volunteers' point of view and ease of use, instead of the academic assumption that there is no other way.

Cheers for the feedback guys,
I'll be sitting down with the other members of theSkyNet team on monday to try and nut out a solution that will satisfy everyone as much as possible.
All these posts will be included.

I think if we give them a month or so, they will get it sorted out with the final site.
and so....
I had to drop, then re-attach theSkynet project on the BOINC client in June to continue shrubbing. I have since been trying to get it to show on all the stats collectors by whining in a high pitch.
It worked pretty well except for the Boinc All Project Stats site which seems to be on total autopilot with nobody checking the forum there. Pogs has tried and I've left messages as well.
I did manage to copy, shrink, store and put my "POGS trophy" in a Signature (it's the HAL for 90,000 credits) _________________

By the way, should we keep POGS off the PotM ballot 'til this is sorted out? Or just ignore it... |

Ignore it. They really should get basic issues sorted out before going live. It shouldn't take users more than a minute to sign up and join a team, maybe 10-15 min. for customizing preferences, more if advanced config files, etc. can tune hardware use. _________________
