|
|
By a unanimous vote in GPU and a close vote in CPU, SETI is the PotM for August in both arenas.
Obviously SETI needs no introduction, just shrub it!
Sign up for the SETI / WOW event here (8/15 - 8/29/13):
http://www.seti-germany.de/Wow/anmeldung.php?&lang=en
Correlizer won 2nd Place in CPU and is the back up project in that arena. A special dispensation has been granted to crunch Correlizer 8/1 - 8/14/13 since this helps shore up KWSN rankings at DC Vault...

Everybody SETI - ing?
Anyone Correlize - ing?
I'm currently shrubbing SETI, but still working down lots of WU's from a wonderful vacation. Will start Correlizing once bleeping QMC and some others are done... |

I couldn't get any WU on a Linux shrubber yesterday, message said I may need a newer version of Boinc but today I'm getting work. All CPUs on SETI, my GPU is still working on a Genefer WU.

On the SETI here also. Got the latest lunatics, (Thnx Sir Pooh),
GPU is going pretty slow, but I don't want to heat it up, so maybe that's ok. _________________

As far as I can tell my Linux Cuda can only run Astropulse, ands that's run dry. No WUs.
My windows ATI tried for a whole day with no WUs. I have it set to receive any and all GPU style WUs, but no luck. My CPUs are running down some Lattice and BURP stuff. My Lattice work is almost done. BURP runs so slow, I may just give up for now and switch over to seti CPU sooner rather than later. _________________

Doesn't seem to be much production increase in either project. Perhaps too early, folks still on vakay? (I've been wasting time on QMC, but those deadlines are up tomorrow.) _________________

I got everything on it. Even my GPU. In about the same time it would got 3300pts @PG, it's getting ~100-125pts @SETI.
Yay. _________________

Yep, the GPU WU's seem to pay less per same runtime than the CPU.
Could that be true?
I just got an Astropulse ... dang thing says 179 hours
Could that be true?
The stats for KWSN don't show any real increase for SETI ... PotM & WoW-event month.
Could that be true?
A Butterfly smells with it's feet but it's feet don't stink.
Could that be true?

We now have over thirty people signed up! We're game for a pretty good showing. Also, if you haven't noticed it, Phred started a thread over in our Seti forum... http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=72359 This area is open only to Knights, so we could do some stratagergizing over there.
On another note, I tried to get my linux box going on the app_info, but no luck. Good thing the AP units came down for my cuda card. As you guys noted, not nearly the punch of more popular GPU projects, but better than cpu seti. Hopefully these will continue through the event. _________________

Astropulse takes ~1 hr for my GPU but 9-12hrs for my cpu. Giving roughly 700 points each though which is nice _________________
