First off I just want to say I dislike projects that have external message boards that you have to also sign up for. It's annoying to bounce between sites.
I want to understand Yoyo and why my finished and valid units are not counting toward the badges. The forums talk about it, but there seems to be no explanation why it is happening. Most of their forums are in another language and very hard to keep up with in translation.
Someone said it takes 24 hours, but it's been much more than 24 hours since the unit was valid and still is not counted. I have 1 counted, 2 finished and validated that are not counted, and 1 pending validation. On the two that are not counted, I was the 3rd person to return and the 2 before I returned were already validated against each other. Does this make a difference? Are you penalized for being the 3rd unneeded result? Why send 3 results and only require two and waste the time and energy of the 3rd, plus dock them for being 3rd?
What a crazy project. |

If the TIME of two results are over 50% different, Yoyo uses a third to affix credits. If say an i7 result was turned in,
and paired up with a result from a P4 - 3GHz, I'm sure there would be a big difference! I do not know if that is the
same problem you have, but sounds like it COULD be. Penalized for bein' too PHAST!

Another annoying thing, they do not let you set it as a backup project, ie 0 for the resource share. It automatically sets it to 100.
Are they that freakin' full of themselves they need to force their project not to allow itself to be a backup? |

Why not ask yoyo? He's pretty responsive. He reads this forum from time to time, maybe he'll jump in. _________________

Well, I can verify that if you are the 3rd person returning and credit has already been given to the first you, yours is not counted toward the badge. So you are penalized for a slow machine (as in an ARM device as I am using).
As for asking questions, I signed up for the forum and posted questions, but they moderate posts and the posts have not been posted. Sending a PM to him here has gotten no answer, either.
There are a couple projects that the Admins seem to have been quiet or missing on. I had been willing to try new projects, but I've not had a lot of luck and makes me glad that the main projects I have crunched are much more attentive and worth working on. |

A week went by, their forums have had no new messages posted (including the ones I posted). Seems like Yoyo is in a silent mode currently. A little disheartening. |

Minor confusion. The yoyo boards are on the same site as the yoyo@home site. No seperate login needed. What second site did you go to? If the site is using an older version of the boinc server it may not support a 0 resource share. but you can set it to 1.

1 is what I set active to, 0 is backup. I do not want work from a backup site unless no other work is available on my primary site. This is how BOINC works, and how I want it to work. It has been that way for several revisions.
Yoyo does not have their own forums, if you click FORUM or Message Board you go to a separate PHP board similar to KWSN Forums and need a separate login. The site is http://www.rechenkraft.net/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=66. It made me create a new account there when I went to it. I bet you just forgot you had to make a new login, since you keep the logins turn on for the PHP board. Test, log out of Yoyo and go to the forum, you'll still be logged in, or visa versa.
There was a new posting on the forum today, and Yoyo had a new message on there, so I know he has been on there, but my messages still have not been approved/posted and no answers to my inquiry. |

Sorry, I WAS still logged in. The forum is on the same server, but, the forum (your link is to a sub-forum) is for all Rechenkraft boinc projects, so you do have to use a seperate login for the forum. All the code I found is OLD so it probably doesn't support the 0 resource share yet.

Should we delete Yoyo from the PotM ballot?
Another candidate lost in the primary? |

I'd say no. Just because one sub-project (Harmony Trees) has a slight issue in how it gives points for badges, I cannot comment how the other projects work as I am only using an Android device, currently. The project is very stable and looks well thought out for the most part. I just wish that the forums and admin a little more available. |

My Yoyo concerns have been addressed.
The Yoyo backend code is VERY old, predates the 0 as a backup. This is a shame, because I cannot use it as a backup project as I had hoped.
They now made the Harmonious Trees 3/3 which allows them all to count toward badge status. Too bad I had to lose probably a dozen or so that never got badge status. I have over 5.5K in credit all on Harmonious Trees, but only 2.1K toward badge. So over ~2.3K lost (over half currently). That's the way things go, I guess. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

Sorry, wasn't here for a long time.
Please consider, that the project is operated by me only in my spare time. I have also a full time employee job and a real life . There isn't any big university or institute which has full time people dedicated for the yoyo@home project.
Additional I needed some time to find the error in harmonious tree badge counting.
But now you should have your answers.

There are still 146 * 3 (quorum) Results running and recycled. So everyday some new harmonious trees are created. My Android is always busy running them.

It looks like the Harmonious Trees project at Yoyo finally finished.
I actually got a Silver badge (over 100000) and over 5000 WUProp hours when in the early part of me adding this project I never thought I'd get this far because it was not generating new work. It was just shifting work off previous work. The project stats do not quite show the series are completed, but that might not be real time.
Anyway, looks like another sub-project finished. Odd Weird Search looks like it is next. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)
