Quote:
Milkyway@Home uses the BOINC platform to harness volunteered computing resources, creating a highly accurate three dimensional model of the Milky Way galaxy using data gathered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This project enables research in both astroinformatics and computer science.

In computer science, the project is investigating different optimization methods which are resilient to the fault-prone, heterogeneous and asynchronous nature of Internet computing; such as evolutionary and genetic algorithms, as well as asynchronous newton methods. While in astroinformatics, Milkyway@Home is generating highly accurate three dimensional models of the Sagittarius stream, which provides knowledge about how the Milky Way galaxy was formed and how tidal tails are created when galaxies merge.

struggling with the shrubbery - getting a lot of erroring out wu's from the 6950.
Also, time for some pruning.
Anyone interested in a random selection of GPU's?
mostly failed fans, and incompatibilities with MB's / other cards.
YMMV, but happy to donate.
pm me if interested.

KWSN could pass Ars Technica this month, keep an eye on this. Unfortunately Xtreme Systems will stomp us before then.

I like shrubbin' MilkyWay a bigbuttload.
Makes my lil' ole GPU happy.
I'm currently #43 on team for credits and #6 RAC for team today in MilkyWay.
I consider that an accomplishment for less than 2 months work and one computer. (I GPU'd a bunch of Poetry also.)
Currently adding around 60,000 per day.
Milkyway Credits = 3,002,119.31
RAC = 49,317

I'm real glad you picked this one for GPU PotM ... Thanks !

60K daily? Wowzer! MW doesn't like my GPU nearly that much, only 'bout 5K per day... Embarassed
