New project - BigData@Home
http://bigdata.ihep.ac.cn/bigdata/
I've run this for a while now waiting for info, but there is still no info. From what I can tell, it is run by the Chinese outfit Institute of High Energy Physics (http://english.ihep.cas.cn/). No data on the frontpage and message boards are not enabled. Has apps for "Spider Application" and "Crawl Internet New Media Infomation" - so probably an internet crawler.
Team created.
Couple observations:
1. Apps avail for Windows and Linux.
2. Linux apps error out every time.
3. Spider app works for Windows, but the media app errors out.
4. Very low resources on CPU, run very brief.
5. CPU only.
note - even though the frontpage is blank, you can still access all the standard boinc pages like /apps.php, /server_status.php, /home.php, ...

| A project called "Big Data" that is an internet crawler run by a physics dept. in China? I'm suspicious of that one, won't be shrubbing it. |
