I have an HTC Aria that I want to root. Problem is AT&T has locked processing power on it, so even though there is a dual processor, it only runs as a single. I figured this out with crunching projects and it taking more than twice as long run time as CPU time. I also verified this in other aspects.
Issue is there are about a dozen different instructions on the web to unlock the phone, but I am unsure which one to trust. I do not want to brick my phone, so I am looking for some help from you fine people.
It is currently running Android 4.0.3. I have installed the Sync and SDK software on my PC. The instructions I read said something about getting an update.zip file onto the phone. This file is 3rd party and hence my hesitation to make sure I get a valid one.
Any help would be appreciated. I can effectively double my output if I get this fixed.
Thanks. |

I am still running on a crippled processor because I cannot figure out how to root this decently. I still get credit, but it could be getting nearly twice as much as it does now. |

My issue is that I have found my phone and tried to Root, but all the Roots online are for the old Andriod OS, this has a newer OS and no one seems to have any updates. |

I have Jelly Bean, which was the last OS update sent out. No one has rooting for Jelly Bean on the Aria that I can find. |
