Since it looks like LanDroid is otherwise occupado, I figured I'd get this started.

Quote:
theSkyNet POGS is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research in astronomy. We will combine the spectral coverage of GALEX, Pan-STARRS1, and WISE to generate a multi-wavelength UV-optical-NIR galaxy atlas for the nearby Universe. We will measure physical parameters (such as stellar mass surface density, star formation rate surface density, attenuation, and first-order star formation history) on a resolved pixel-by-pixel basis using spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting techniques in a distributed computing mode. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.

theSkyNet POGS is based at The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research.

That was totally Pooh Bear's fault, poorly worded thread title was completely ambiguous. Twisted Evil

On the other hand, perhaps you're somewhat psychic and felt that SUSA and the Musketeers were about to ask for help in Asteroids. Idea

Please consider switching to SUSA for a few days to help.

I was just trying to help out, and I used the same thread title convention that LanDroid uses. I even added more information in the initial post, stating about the Android ability, and a few extra stats info that usually isn't there.

I suspect people look for the author along with the thread title which may have thrown people off.

Oh well, I tried to be a team player in helping a member who was busy with other things. It's Friday afternoon, enjoy your favorite beverage. #Beer

You realize that was completely tongue-in-cheek, right?

I did realize that, but some others may not have.

I think it's time for my favorite drink. Hot dark Belgium chocolate mocha with a bit of bourbon. Sleep this last week has been fitful at most and I hope to calm the nerves some to sleep a little better.

Crunch on team!

well i will be out of town next week during that challenge, so while i would like to help I will not be able to. As to the thread, we need points in both projects and I will take points wherever i can get them so no real harm done in looking at a few rocks for a while before switching.
