You have to manually install them. It depends on your operating system and video card.
The optimized apps they have are only for windows and OSX (I'm not familiar with OSX).
If you are using windows...Can you tell me what operating system you are using, whether it is x86 or x64 and what video card you are using we can make sure you have the right drivers and make sure you download the right app and install it in the right place!
It' worth noting that the site claims these will auto install on windows, but when I did this a couple of weeks ago I found that not to be the case.

Sure,
I'm running Windowz 7 64 bit with an ATI Radeon 6870 card with the latest drivers for it. I grabbed the opencl app from that page for 64 bit and i put it in C:\Program Data\BOINC\projects\collatz\ but it didn't seem to recognize the apps as it did nothing with them _________________

Trying to run Poem on GPU and DDM on CPU, but not working too well. Poem resists sending GPU WU's...
Wazzup with "this project is not the highest Priority"? I've seen that on a coupla projects. If not highest priority, you don't get work? |

Poem GPU WU's are snapped up almost as fast as they're generated. You could try one of the auto updaters. I could never get them working for me.
I'll PM you when I remember where I put them. _________________

Im having a weird problem with my comps ATI Radeon 5670 gpu. It's not spinning up from idle clock speed (400MHz) to full speed (1000MHz) when shrubbing. Running boinc 7.0.42 with TThrottle and GPU-Z on win7 x64. This combo was working fine until this month... D: _________________

Just had mine replaced under warranty as it was doing the same thing, then all of a sudden it started to overheat and shut down the system.
Replacement card is running well. I've had mine just about 2 years. Thankful for good warranties. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

Plomos,
C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\boinc.thesonntags.com_collatz
This should be your data directory. You have to be attached to collatz already before moving forward.
Make sure boinc is shut down when you install the files.
You did select:
Quote: | collatz_3.11_windows_x86_64__opencl_amd.zip (Win64 AMD w/ OpenCL) |
from the downloads?
Then start boinc back up. You should be good.
You may need to install the opencl sdk for your card after you make sure you have the latest drivers. I use cuda and the download I use has the needed dll file in it, while the opencl one did not have any.
Can someone else who uses ATI with opencl speak up? _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I installed the latest AMD opencl sdk. POEM uses Opencl to run the ATI WU's so it works for that. But every time it tries to run collatz units it gets a computation error immediately _________________

Do you have the newest drivers? Forum browsing in collatz shows that people have been having issues with WUs erroring out using the newest drivers (counter-intuitive, If I had an ATI card I'd walk myself through this before posting).
Quote: | 1.) Download the ATIMAN UNINSTALLER http://www.mediafire.com/?0jdko53gk5npzo0
2.) Install ATIMAN (if you encounter an "error 1925, you don't have privileges", run the installer from an Administrator command prompt)
3.) Turn off your UAC and run ATIMAN (I am using Win8 Pro 64, and had to run it from an Admin command prompt in order for it to work properly; if it reboots and nothing happens after the reboot, it didn't work)
4.) Choose complete uninstall. Continue when prompted, go ahead with the "advanced" option after the reboot. When it has completed reboot (even if you see the message not to)
5.) You will know it has worked when the PC reboots into 800x600
6.) Now install a fresh copy of Catalyst 13.1; BE SURE TO CHOOSE CUSTOM INSTALL AND UNCHECK THE SDK PACKAGE IN THE LIST OF INSTALLATION COMPONENTS!
7.) Now get AMD's SDK 2.7 package and install that. http://developer.amd.com/tools/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/download-archive/
|
Found this posted as a fix that worked for at least some of the people. If you have the time give it a whirl. If it doesn't work your options fall back to going to older drivers or waiting for the collatz project to catch up the drivers you're using.

I've suspended MW and Prime To run only Colatz.
And just added POEM. Not sure if it will use GPU or not but I did get a GPU unit. Only got 2 to start with. One CPU and one GPU. Will see how it does. If all is well I'll open it up for more.
Also have a problem. Colatz isn't showing on my list. Noticed it's cpid is different from my other projects. How can I fix that?

The whole site is very slow right now. Did finally get forum to load. Seems the server is out of disk space. Nobody is able to upload completed work and that nobody is around to fix the problem. _________________
