|
|
In yet another election squeaker, our GPU PotM for January is Moo! Wrapper.
Quote: | Moo! Wrapper brings together BOINC volunteer computing network resources and the Distributed.net projects. It allows a BOINC Client to participate in the RC5-72 challenge.
http://moowrap.net/ |
Starting stats:
3rd Place
1,974,370,426 Total points
1,062,422 average daily production in past week
29,502,470 points in last 28 days
1,044,779 RAC 13th place
9th Place Formula Boinc
KWSN should achieve 2 billion Moos! this month - that's a lot of noise!

So many numbers crunched that is hard to find room for all those shrubs.

Agostino Galegati 6,000,000
Logan 950,000
Plomos 6,000
Adam Alexander passed 1,000 |

The RC-75 project demonstrates how amazingly difficult it is to crack encryption through brute force. This 72 bit cypher has 4.7 sextillion keys to search. This has been going on for 10 years, presumably at an accelerating rate due to technology - currently at 396 billion keys per second, yet the search is only 2.6% complete!

Regardless, I believe the NSA has cracked 128 bit encryption. |
