We could use some help on the other contender for POTM.

This is how many wanted to go, but Pogs has always tended to be a lil less then consistent with work, the times I have run it before...

They're still techniclaly beta, so it can go with the territory...

New galaxies

We're ready to go with the new galaxies, we're just waiting for the last few results of the old run to come in. We've made a number of improvements:

1) The F77 records more probability data than before;
2) We've decided to push the redshift out to 0.1;
3) The next run is pure PanSTARRS1 data;
4) The 64bit Windows code should be a lot faster;
5) A improvement to the Cobblestone scaling to look at the number of layers you are processing as well as the number of pixels.

WARNING: The model files have grown in size so you'll get a once of down load of 20MB (gzipped)

One step forward, three steps back?

Tasks ready to send 11,073

agphys_validator ip-10-98-134-10 Not Running
assimilator ip-10-98-134-10 Not Running
assimilator ip-10-98-134-10 Not Running
assimilator ip-10-98-134-10 Not Running

Warning The new version needs new models, unfortunately the BOINC client will start trying to run things before it has finished downloading them. It'll either go really quickly or fail with computation errors. I'll register the early galaxies again so they get processed.

Well, while I was waiting for Pogs to get its Schitt together Boinc downloaded five 100 hour Climate WU's and two 500 hour WU's.

Perhaps instead of holding a Vote for PoTM we should just ask around to find out which project is planning on completely screwing things up in the next 30 days and go with that one Confused

Sounds like he's still lezrning how to get BOINC to work. Other projects do seem to be able to sort out what data sets WUs will need and what not, and communicate with the CC that x file is needed to complete this WU, so don't start crunching till you have it #ni-1

Well, it is still beta for a reason #ni-1

Well that didn't last long, plus all mine errorred out as they said might happen. Mad

Having a time gettin' work anywhere. Decided to try some projects where I have low points. I have 148 small Fightmalaria WU's that are done, but their server is down. Also can't report NRG WU's. Crunched some EdGes, then they said no more work for my computer type. Careful, I think the Boinc flu is goin' 'round.

When I ran out of Pogs I reset the project and allowed it to download all the back stuff when I was full of work from other projects. Then I suspended climate and it DL'ed work. I haven't had any errors at all. I'm sittin on 40 Wu's now
