After a quick runoff election, our PotM by a wide vote margin is SkyNet/POGS.
Quote:
SkyNet PS1 Optical Galaxy Survey
We will combine the spectral coverage of GALEX, Pan-STARRS1, and WISE to generate a multi-wavelength UV-optical-NIR galaxy atlas for the nearby Universe. We will measure physical parameters (such as stellar mass surface density, star formation rate surface density, attenuation, and first-order star formation history) on a resolved pixel-by-pixel basis using spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting techniques in a distributed computing mode.

GALEX (the Galaxy Evolution Explorer) is a space telescope operating in the ultraviolet spectral range, which is an excellent tracer of recent star formation sites.
PS1 (Pan-STARRS1) is an optical survey telescope conducting observations from Mt. Haleakala on Maui. It uses the world's largest digital camera (1.4 Gigapixels!) to repeatedly image the entire northern sky.
WISE (the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer) is another small NASA mission that recently completed all-sky imaging in multiple infrared bands sensitive to old stars, the interstellar medium, and warm dust in galaxies.

A quick tip for if you are curious about what sort of progress your WUs are making. You can go to the slots folder

found in XP in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\Slots\0 (or whatever number slot it is in)\stderr.txt

This will tell you how often it is checkpointing and what checkpoint it is at. For me once it gets to ~20 it has finished, but longer WUs will have more

Here's a cool feature:
Go to main SkyNet page, log in, then click on "images you have processed" near top left.
You'll see data on galaxies with the area your system processed marked.

is anyone else getting Keyboard problems? I believe that Pogs is causing some real problems with my machine. I had a couple of BSoD's last night "Bad Pool Header" and major problems with the USB mouse and keyboard. When I Suspend Pogs I can type but not with it on...

Edit: oops it isn't Pogs it's Einstein....

If it becomes too many projects, probably the question you don't want to hear, when was the last time you reinstalled Windows. If it was several years, perhaps the OS is getting clogged up with a lot of junk in the registry, and stuff. Windows has been notorious for getting dirty as things don't completely uninstall, etc; and when that happens it starts having, well, issues...

Windows always has issues, starting with itself.

I have gotten some work, but seems to have slowed a bit since some of the Knights have added it as well.

Project is out of work the next few days or so. While they purge the database, or give it a massage.

So go back to running DDM for a bit, and help keep our #1 spot in check. Plus the WUs are fairly short and pay OK.
