For those few brave kaniggets at eOn who've stood out with all the ups and downs, I've e-mailed the team to find out what the heck is going on with work.

Prof Henkelman posted the following on the eOn forum "We had one calculation using the beta-eonclient. This has been switched back to the regular client, so it is hopefully smooth sailing now."
Seems to be running ok now ... onward brave knights!

Wow! You're posting from the future, it's not 22.18 yet where I am and it's even earlier then that in Austin. Oh yeah, you're east of where I am.

I've not hade any problems for 24 hours with work. Just hit that update button and you should get some WUs. Unless you're trying for GPU work because then you'll have a problem Razz

If I turned off all my projects, the sudden excess of electricity would probably melt the power grid....

Looks like I spoke too soon ..... no work again. Sad

Edit -back up - someone shovled some more WUs into the servers.
From the team - "I think that I was mostly creating workunits for the beta client by accident. I fixed this today. There should be plenty of work for everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience!"

I dislike the fact that while running an e0n WU it got up to 18% done and then dropped all the way back down to 2% done and had to go through it all again. Seriously, what gives? A project that goes backwerds?

I've had a few not go anywhere at all (stay at 0% for a long time) but never backwerds.
If you've had power problems, hibernated or switched projects, then it might do it.
If you're sure it was a bad WU then I normaly report it on the Forum, or you can e-mail Sam Chill at samchill@gmail.com The details you can get on your account data webpage, look at my computers and then the tasks.

Edit - just an idea but the time remaining can be all wrong when they run a different project at eon. Was this your first eon work for a while?

Looking at the work you've done, (see here ) there's nothing unusual with the length of time to complete a WU, so I'd put it down to the Boinc Manager getting it wrong, then correcting itself. You'll notice that all work shows 0% completed for a minute or two, but the client is working.
#ni-1

Edit - just started up an old HP Pentium D 2.8 on eon and that showed 9% done quickly on both WUs then went back to 2%. So I think I was right. Points awarded also goes up and down. First ones got 1.74 then it went up to 3.14 now down to 2.80 for basically the same work. #ni-1
