Ummmm I'm guessing this is quite the battery drain - you would only do this when the thing is plugged in? I predict PoohBear 27 will be the first Knight to find a prime on a phone.

This could provide another excuse during unwanted phone conversations, "I'm sorry, can't hear you - you're Boincing Up! Buh-Bye now!"

As far as i understand it's just a control application, not the shrubbing one.

Oh darn, that's not nearly as much fun. Laughing However I stand by my prediction that PoohBear 27 will be the first Knight to find a prime on a phone.

Currently there is an Android application that does work on PrimeGrid. It only Sieves TRP currently. It takes 4-5 days to do a Sieve where on a PC it takes about 12-14 hours.

I suspect LLR would be very hard to do since the numbers are pretty large. The memory requirements could be hard to manage. The only one currently I could see doing it was PPSLow and maybe SGS.

The interest is low for a mobile because of the battery drain and it so far mostly has made the phone very hard to do much else with while it is crunching.

My main phone is a 3GS so it's not very powerful for doing much work.

Ya know, if they ever get to a point where they're installing micro-chips to help the disabled walk and what not; and they develop a BOINC that can run on those chips.... Especially as the technology would improve, it could give a whole new meaning to getting people and BOINCing #ni-1

Ya know? This sounds wrong on so many levels Laughing That said, there's a lot more computing devices in our lives then the computers themselves. That said, the one in one's car might not be a good idea, if it sucks enough compute power, that the fuel injection sorta mis-fires during a difficult calculation #ni-1

Anyway seems like BoincTasks itself worth trying.

As of right now the only BOINC platform that crunches for phones is native boinc

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=7414

It does take a while to run PG but you can run Subset@home pretty easily. BoincTasks is great #ni-1

Been using it for a while now, like it much better than boinc manager

I do not think this will work very well. Especially the drain on the battery.
