I'm thinking this might be a good time to upgrade my TRP(seive) bronze badge. Anyone else interested in participating?

Quote: | To participate in the Challenge, please select only the TRP (Sieve) project in your PrimeGrid preferences section. The Challenge will begin 3 Aug 2012 18:00 UTC and end 5 Aug 2012 18:00 UTC. Application builds are available for MacIntel, Linux 32 & 64 bit and Windows 32 & 64 bit.
Note: 64 bit builds benefit from a 1.7X speed advantage over 32 bit...so 1.7X the credit. |

It doesn't state it outright, but this is a CPU only Sieve.
If you do not know what sieving is, you will not find a countable prime, you will just help take non-primes out of the LLR process. |

This thing doesn't want to give me WUs
Also my new asus gtx670 feels like not really good, way too high temperature. Gonna exchange it to zotac amp gtx670. _________________

Check your account preferences. Remember this is a CPU sieve, make sure 'use CPU' is checked if you were GPU shrubbing before. _________________

That's weird. PG isn't a flaky project, usually works as advertised.
The only unusual thing I see is you're using Win 8. Anyone else using Win 8 successfully?
Did you try increasing your cache size? Last night one of my Linux shrubbers only had the 4 WUs that were in progress. I tried .25d, .5d, 1d, and hit update but Boinc manager was 'Not reporting or requesting tasks'. I had to 1.6d and it downloaded 24 WUs. Give it a try.

Are other projects working normally?
Are you using a cc_config.xml file?
It could be a long term debt problem, but with 7.xx BOINC doesn't recognize the <zero_debts> flag any longer.
Did you try removing and reattaching PG?
Are all other CPU projects suspended? (not just NNT)

More or less yeah. I have lots of einstein, fightmalaria, poem, milkyway, distrrtgen, and very few WUs from other projects, honestly have no idea why.
cc_config.xml ? :O
After reattaching i got:
04.08.2012 19:19:18 | PrimeGrid | Сообщение от сервера: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your project preferences on the web site.
Other CPU projects are not suspended.

Well there you go. If your cache is full of other project's WUs you can't expect the manager to request more.
cc_config.xml is an optional configuration file you can use to control many operating and debugging features.
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration
I see they removed <zero_debts> because the new version doesn't track long term debts anymore.

Such a shame, i thought "resource allocation" option gonna sort all things up.
P.S. Thx for help! _________________

You're welcome.
You can't depend too much on "resource allocation", many WUs download with an unrealistic estimated runtime. I've had WU's fill a .25 day cache with an estimated ~2 min. time but they actually took>3 hrs., meaning a 25 day cache. Impossible to complete before the deadline.

Well if your computer is over committed
On the gfx card, might try adding a fan to the computer. Perhaps a GPU cooler might help also (apart from the stock cooler). Just try to keep some consistency in the air flow when adding extra fans though, so they're not competting against each other _________________

It usually works itself out over time, but when a project first attaches, or a project drastically increases the size of their WUs (to try to cut down on the number of times clients contact their servers for instance), it can upset things quite a bit. And it can take more then a few task completions for the client to eventually get the right idea.
Same thing happens with estimated RAC, when one gets a new computer which is substantially faster then what one had before. BOINCstats, in a matter of weeks even can still under-estimate one's RAC, with it only slowly approaching one's true, new output _________________
