The real question is if this has the fix for laptops with Optimus so one CAN use GPU processing, or if one still needs a pre-release client to make it work. Not sure as someone saying it detected it fine and just auto-ran with it had a parse log reporting a BOINC client 7.1.x which would look like a higher version number, except they reported this more then a few months ago...
Even the risk of a few tasks not reporting wouldn't even come close to the loss one would experience if they still have to wait for GPU processing... The laptop I'm getting will have an nVidia gt650m gfx (nVidia's lattest arch) using optimus along with an i7 ivy bridge CPU (and it has the CPU gfx enabled also hence where Optimus comes in)... But it's setup to do GPU switching through optimus, so needs proper detection support for that feature from nVidia... I don't want to wait for future versions of BOINC to go release, if a pre-release version will allow GPU crunching. CPU only on some of these projects is for the birds.... _________________

If I even start BOINC I am using a pre 7 version so I am the real rebel. Also between .27 and .28 there should be no difference.
