The proceeds supposedly go to GPUGRID, they're talking about using it to hire another employee there. It's controversial since you're not crunching any science and will likely spend more on electricity than it generates for the project but it's probably the highest paying ATI project ATM.
If it weren't paying so much I'd say ignore it. It occasionally locks up on my 5870s so I've been avoiding it lately.
