Looking at BOINCstats, Primegird now has more overall credit than SETI. Even though SETI has been around longer.

That is a lot of numbers crunched.

PSA and all the challenges help in gaining large chunks of credit where seti does not

Sir Plomos,

I doubt many Knights are in the PSA projects. You and I are the only real active ones. I am the leader of all known Knights in the PSA projects.

Too many Acronyms! - You're talking about Prime Grid's PSA (Project Staging Area) stuff on PRPNet, right? I can see where it is a manual setup, but is there an advantage to doing these this way instead of BOINC? Or are these just making projects READY for BOINC, like a Beta, kinda?

@Wabbit

I suppose you are right that not too many run it, but from looking around I found it interesting that both KSWN Raw Data and Sir John Galt are both above you in the rankings for PSA

KSWN Raw Data - 105
[KWSN]John Galt 007 - 121
Wabbit98 - 170
Plomos - 361

@Sir Phred

Yes PSA stands for project staging area and has to do with PrPNet and manual sieving. I like PSA because i can run through WUs faster normally unless i'm trying to run one of the bigger projects for it, but yes some things are passed on to BOINC and others are not (the rabbit can correct me if i'm in air here) However if you run the BOINC WUs just fine and wish to stay with that go right ahead

Sir Plomos are they still active in it though?

Sir Phread,

PSA is a place for smaller prime finding projects. Ones that would not really benefit by the full programming of BOINC. Sometimes they get moved to BOINC like SGS started off in the PSA area. Also the credit is better for me than if I just run BOINC. Because you get credit not for the length of time it took to complete the WU, but the number. So say you are crunching a 121*n+1 your credit will be much higher completing that WU on PSA than say in BOINC since you get credit for the size of your number no matter how long or short it takes to complete it.

It would appear you are right sir Wabbit, they do not seem to be actively running PSA work any longer. So that does make you head active member. I'm currently working on a GFN 85912^524288+1 WU that still has 8,314,880 steps to go so it should be nice credit if i can get it to finish

Sir Phread you can use this thread for Challenge news. Or you can create your own.

Sir Plomos, those are nice big WUs if you have the patience and stamnia to finish it. I think a long long time ago I did one or two and that was enough for me.

Due to some username snafus on my part I have about 12 million in PSA credit that hasn't transferred yet...should be about 600k in BOINC credit....and my gold PSA badge.... Twisted Evil

I gathered some PSA credit a couple months ago but have not seen it added to the BOINC credit so not really sure what's up with that. My WU is getting closer, but still a great ways to go lol. Still looking for my bronze PSA badge

Sir Plomos, it has been awhile since I have been granted any BOINC credit. I blame Christmas and all these holiday vacations.
