I have two I am building for that purpose - Older boxes, P4 2.8 GHz Machines
They will just do BOINC (and set only for DDM)
That'll help, with maybe an average of 500...
"And so, our intrepid PHreddy PHarmer commenced to build his now-Legendary Collection of Shrubbers..."
Both now online - Hope it helps!!
Sir 'Droid, you better not be slackin' d00d! I am headed YOUR WAY!!

I wish I had a massive farm of old machines just to devote to random BOINC projects to keep them going.

Position 5 by RAC. Total shrubberies:
Knights: 16,244,646
Ars: 90,070
Francophones: 15,074,622
It'll be a while.
In other news, we have gained a buffer of 1.2 mil. Awesome job everyone! _________________

My point was they did it with THREE people!! Yes, takes time, but they came outta nowhere - Advanced 13 places in one week with THREE people! (Here's their 'big' gun...)
Quote: | last month New
last week 0
last day 0
Pos. 1 (On their team)
User Name Chipotle
Total credit 82,865
Credit/day 6,815
Credit/week 39,954
Credit/month 79,212
Average credit 4,389 |
My Average, now over 500 somewhere, cannot hold it back!
We need a commitment, a sustained protection from losing
our lead in DDM. I really do think we need at LEAST 30K a day! _________________

Currently, I am generating new workunits for our medical application. It turned out, I was acting a bit careless, because as a consequence many members are getting MD5 download errors now.
The reason is quite simple. During WU generation files are getting copied to the server. Sometimes these files are still existing because we use the some data files for multiple workunits. In these cases we just change the learning parameters or the experiment setup.
Anway, overwriting these existing files leads to problems, because the old and the new file have different MD5 checksums and hence all WUs that are related to the old files error out with an MD5 download error. About 30.000 WUs are affected. I'll take care of it but it might take a while to identify the failing WUs. There is a chance, that the dDM members error out the affected old WUs in the meantime. In that case, the new WUs should work fine.
Lesson learned: Never generate new WUs if you are in a hurry - in the end it takes much more time and causes preventable trouble.
I am sorry for the inconvenience!
Best regards,
Nico
Then a few hours later:
Okay, the MD5 problem should be solved now! |

It only happens when you speak the word out loud, has been scientifically proven.
Ars got rocked by some internal issues, we are above them in many projects like SETI.

I am happy to leave lets say 2 of my cores on this project once the PotM is over
Have all 6 cores on the project now as my Climate Prediction WU's have completed
Lets push this as hard as we can and retain Numero Uno Yayyyyyyy
Its also brilliant to see so many team members in the top 20...9 at last count with several beating Nico
As an aside there are still many things I am not able to do on my PC as Java is still F*****d up Grrrrrrrrr. _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?

What doesn't run correctly? I am still confused about this and think if you laid out what did not work when Java is installed, some of us might be able to point you to either a fix, or why it breaks. |

Its Principally older stuff that I really enjoy Ergo: Diablo, Thief and games of those Genere first person sneekers and such like. Though there is far more up to date game I play which is affected Assassins Creed all versions.
OK I admit it I am a gamer in the First Degree and love playing games
It does annoy me that I have to put my passion for games on hold to run dDM _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?
