Select your candidate from the list.
V = New to PotM
This ballot is set to run through the end of the month. But I forgot I'm leaving for a trip Thursday evening 10/27. So if the election isn't determined by about noon on 10/27, someone else will have to call the election and move things forward. If nothing can be decided due to a loonie set of ties and run-offs, we can default back to Vacation Mode in October... |

Why is Dimes on the list again? It uses almost no resources and runs alongside BOINC.
Everyone should be running it all the time.

Have we looked at Number Fields @ Home??
http://stat.la.asu.edu/NumberFields/index.php
Not a lot of people on this one...looks like small WU's that grant a lot of credit!
We could FLY up the charts pretty quick. _________________

Well I think the Gem addict told me to take Dimes off the list, which I forgot when someone else told me to add it back. If we make Dimes PotM, perhaps everyone will crank it up as you have been suggesting. I finally got some graphs working, pretty cool... |

NFS keeps giving me computation errors so i have stopped running it. NumberFields is weird in that it sets a deadline for say 2 days but the time remaining will start at 3-4 days and then drop as it goes in order to complete on time. I already have nearly 200 credits for it since last night. Dist. Data Mining seems to run ok, not huge credits but the WUs at least run correctly. As for DIMES i started it up again and oddly it is running IPs but does not show any nodes on the graph other than my computer as the central node. It does turn in credit for it though. Also I am still running majestic 12 up to 2,500,000 URLs and 55 GB of data done so far _________________

As of 8:47 pm EST on October 31, there's a tie with 5 for NFS and 5 for distributed data mining. I'll have to check back tomarrow to see if a deciding vote gets cast or if there's a run off election. _________________

Well I guess there isn't a tie anymore. It would be funny if yet another month, we entered into it with a tie; like that one time we had a 4 way tie and had to have a run off election, in the next month
BTW, when Googling the current winner, any link I find to the project page from forum links or whatever times out and doesn't display. Does someone have the right URL to this project? _________________

Well, can we finally call this one? It is the 1st afterall.
Distributed Data Mining - the quest for gold. November 2011.
The URL for the homepage: http://www.distributeddatamining.org/
The URL for your boinc manager: http://www.distributeddatamining.org/DistributedDataMining - Note, this is found in the 'Supporting dDM' section.
Remember, you need an updated version of Java to run dDM without problems. When in doubt... http://java.com/en/
There is currently two applications: Medical Data Analysis: Laryngeal video classification & Time Series Analysis: Stock Price Prediction OSW and you can choose what you want in your account page.
Let's go get 'em! _________________
