I think I will stick with RNA World for a little while, to see if i can help get us past the Frenchies.

Looking At Formula Boinc, L'Alliance Francophone are about 1.1 million ahead of us. I think come July 1, we will be one or two hundred thousand short of passing them for 4th. So I will stay until we do, or it really looks hopeless.

Vacation strategeries
Here are some projects to crunch in July if you're looking for ideas or want to support team goals.
Basic Research
Please explore some of the smaller projects we have been considering and see if they are stable enough for PotM - could use more info on the following.
Constellation
Cosmology
Muon1
Simap (does it still run out of WU's mid-month?)
Edges
Others worth checking out/found anything interesting?
Formula Boinc
The following projects have the most potential for scoring more FB points. The numbers are speculative, I didn't analyze RAC, availability of WU's, etc. Need research to improve and focus our strategery for 2nd half of the year...
RNA World (2 more FB's when we pass the Frenchies)
Sztaki (Only 10K points to snag 2 FB's, 1 million points could win 11?)
uFluids (100K points to snag 1 FB, 600K points could win 25?)
Virtual Prairie (200K wins 1 FB, 700K points could win 12?)
Lattice Project (110K to snip 1 FB, 500K points could win 25 FB's? Low volume WU's but may have some for Cuda GPU?)
Constellation (480K to grab 1 FB, 2.5 million could win 25 FB's?)
Edges (200K wins 1 FB, 1 million wins 4?)
Cosmology (500K points to win 1 FB?)
Ibercivis (900K points to win 2 FB?)
Quake Catcher (50K to steal 1 FB, 260K wins 25?) How many Kanigits live on a fault line?
RSA Lattice Siever (200K snags 2 FB, 2.1 million wins 25?)
Superlink (400K snips 1 FB, 1.5 million wins 25?)
Personal milestones/Badges
What will you be chasing? Besides skirt. Ni! |

I'll be sticking with RNAWorld except for PG Challenges. So by December 31st should add at least another 1.5 mill into the pot. Sometime in the next 7-10 days I will be getting my 4 core Phenom back up and running on my Landlady's puter so that will add an extra 3.5 k per day to my normal 5.5k.
If nothing else it should keep us holding ground once this month's PotM has finished.
Alliteratively I could put that one onto dDM to help push us towards Numero Uno position and drop off about 500k from that 1.5 mill for the rest of the year
Any thoughts? _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?

I have been working hard at getting my Ruby badge on Primegrid's SoB. Those are the 10-15 day units. I have 1.5M currently with several needing to validate and another group crunching and should be enough to get the badge.
I also would love to see us move up in Distributed Data Mining (DDM). We could become #1 in that project fairly easily. |

Don't let Lady Landroid see that.
We've fallen to 21st in Collatz just behind the Cows.
http://boincstats.com/stats/team_stats.php?pr=collatzc&st=0#21
I've switched my ATI's over there.
I'll try to keep some pressure on RNA & dDM.
I want to test run some projects I haven't tried yet.
I need to rotate out shrubbers for maintenance, cleaning, upgrade fans, a new HD or 2.
Bought a new monitor, hope to set up a second crunching center at the other end of the house.

SIMAP runs out of work every month, but you could run it at the start of the month.
Edges seems to be down at the moment, but someone will probably give the server a kick after the weekend. _________________

I'm thinking about chasing that 10K point Formula Boinc gap in Sztaki next month. We're in 9th place with 2 points and less than 10K behind Hungary, which would easily gain 2 more FB's. Anyone else?
Don't forget Malaria Control came in a close second - let's show 'em how much KWSN hates skeeters!
I will probably chase some WCG badges as well... _________________

I've been testing out Edges@Home over the last couple of days while also trying to run RNA to help out where I can and here is what I've come across up to this point with it
There seem to be plenty of WUs going out
Turnaround is about 2 hours even on my comp which is only running 1Gb of ram and a dual core AMD processor. My graphics card is too old to be used by any project so I can only test with CPU shrubbing.
I've turned in 7 valid WUs up to this point but only have 41 credits because each is only giving out between 5 and 8 credits at a time.
Also I've just now noticed that 3 new WUs failed giving the reason as a computing error along with this
Quote: | <core_client_version>6.12.26</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)
</message>
]]> |
Granted this happened as my comp seemed to be locking up because I had too much stuff running and was in the process of closing some programs and such.
I will run a few more WUs through and see what happens. Any other suggestions as to other projects I should test or run for the next month are welcome
_________________
