What motherboard will be the most compliant for the long haul of upgrading in the future? I need a motherboard that will give me the ability to upgrade for years to come. I don't want to buy a new computer for at least 5-8 years, but want to stay up to date as possible with mostly multimedia. What key features should I be looking at, and what recommendations would you offer me?

Any X58 chipset board that can handle the Sandy Bridge CPU.
No need to upgrade that processor for a long time, depending on what your hobby is. _________________ SAVE THE WHALES. Collect the whole set.

The newer Z68 chipset might be a better choice, especially for multi-media work. You probably want to make sure it supports a large amount of RAM even if you don't need it all right now, 4 slots @ 8GB/slot.
