Depends whether I can get my GTX570 bearing shrubber back in service by then or not.

It's an opportunity to expand our taunt of the MuskEaters, therefore it is mandatory.

Thanks! I didn't know about this and have had the ol' GPU bouncing around a few projects. Now it's dedicated to this for the time being.

Always up for a PG challenge! Won't have much firepower to contribute but will send what I've got into the fray

Quote: | Recommendation: The Cullen/Woodall (Sieve) application requires a one time download of a 15MB sieve file. Please consider running a few Cullen/Woodall (Sieve) WU's before the Challenge begins so your client will already have the sieve file. This way, bandwidth can be used to deliver WU's instead of the sieve file. Thank you!
Note: 64 bit CPU builds benefit from a 1.7X speed advantage over 32 bit CPU...so 1.7X the credit.

This app takes a little pre-planning to optimize crunchstanchiability, might want to get on that recommendation today. The challenge begins 20 June 2011 17:16 UTC and ends 21 June 2011 17:16 UTC, which translates to starting 12:16 p.m. EST tomorrow... |

CPU's hardly matter in this, I'm seeing ~3.5hrs on CPU vs. 2.25min. on GPU.
Unless you're running a warehouse full of CPU's.

Drat, maybe I'll skip this one. On the other hand, every computer cycle is sacred, especially during a challenge! |

What's that little trick to get WU's to report immediately? That could be useful as I won't be home when this challenge ends... |

Just testing the WU's for the PG challenge. Looks like they are gonna take considerably less time that the the original 7hrs 42mins 32 secs.
worked it out they will be down at about 3hrs 24mins approx
sadly I won't arrive home until after the challenge starts and the following day go to work before it ends _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?

Ditch Day?
I ran 2 WU's on the i5-2500K, both took 1hr. 38min.

I think you've miscalculated. I'm in EST and with DST in effect, I'm 4hrs. behind UTC. The Challenge starts/ends at 1:16pm.
Yes, the PG countdown clock currently reads 18h 8m

Yeah I start work at 11am (GMT/BST Lol I can never remember which) and don't get home until almost 21:00 GMT/BST :
So I need to either calculate how long the WU's will take and download however many it will take to be will be completed just after the start of the challenge with the Additional Work Buffer set to 0.0 or wait until I get home if thats gonna be a shorter time period than a WU takes to complete. _________________ What is that in the Shrubbery?

Maybe download just enough WU's to be sure to finish before the challenge and in Preferences, set the hours when network usage is allowed to start 1min. after the start of the challenge and end sometime after you'll return home so you can reset it then.
In this bit:
I haven't tried this, but it looks good in theory.

I'll be there Gem.
Just not ramped up yet due to getting home late. Should start to build some shrubs in the next few hours.

Went out this evening, nice Barbie (and the food wasn't bad either).
Unfortunately forgot about the Challenge, and just got back, slightly the worse for wear. Only one GTS250, I'm afraid.
