And we exercise our Constitutional right to make sure it is rigged again.

What if I don't want to vote for any of the choices?

Then do the same as the majority of the (non) voting public does with their consitutional right. Smile

Or as one website says, vote or die.

Perhaps we should go with Gemjunkie's suggestion and call the election for dual winners? SETI for GPU and DDM for CPU PotM...

Course that would probably trigger yet another investigation by international election monitors... Rolling Eyes

Once there's a GPU app, the CPU's contribution becomes pretty insignificant anyway.

Assuming I can figure out how to get the GPU app running. Rolling Eyes

I had the ATI app going for a few WUs, but it would drag down my display, then there were no WUs. Looks like the servers have WUs, but they are down for maintenance. Maybe someday I'll get to try the ATI app again.

Regarding work units, Seti scheduled several days of down time per week for maintenance - are they still doing that?

Need some help, the vote is currently 9 for Seti and 6 for DDM. Should we call it for Seti or split the election and crunch Seti with GPU's and DDM with CPU's?

Has anyone been able to use the app_info for the ATI version?
I'm getting a XML parse error, and I don't know why...

Could someone post a working app_info file for the ATI app here?

I haven't had a chance to install the ATI app...I might not with 8 CUDA cards in my rigs....

I used the app_info from here: http://lunatics.kwsn.net/12-gpu-crunching/ati-opencl-astropulse-rev516.0.html

Here it is:
Code:
   <app>
      <name>astropulse_v505</name>
   </app>
   <file_info>
           <name>ap_5.06_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATI_r516.exe</name>
           <executable/>
       </file_info>
   <file_info>
       <name>AstroPulse_Kernels.cl</name>
       <executable/>
   </file_info>
<app_version>
        <app_name>astropulse_v505</app_name>
        <version_num>506</version_num>
        <platform>windows_intelx86</platform>
        <avg_ncpus>0.04</avg_ncpus>
        <max_ncpus>0.20</max_ncpus>
        <plan_class>ati13ati</plan_class>
   <cmdline>-instances_per_device 1 -hp -unroll 10 -ffa_block 4096 -ffa_block_fetch 2048</cmdline>
   <flops>30987654321</flops>
             <file_ref>
                  <file_name>ap_5.06_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATI_r516.exe</file_name>
                  <main_program/>
           </file_ref>
    <file_ref>
        <file_name>AstroPulse_Kernels.cl</file_name>
        <copy_file/>
    </file_ref>
   <coproc>
   <type>ATI</type>
   <count>1</count>
   </coproc>
</app_version>

Things were working fine until there were no WUs. Confused

Thank you, that is very helpful... Razz

Sir Stooper: I'm still getting XML parse error with that app_info. Is there anything else you need to do to get this thing running?

Just noticed, now that I'm getting WUs again, that I too had a 'no xml file for seti@home' or some such. That's because, my PC was looking for Astropulse. Fixed by going to Seti preferences and de-selecting seti@home. I also looked back at the release notes for their app - http://lunatics.kwsn.net/12-gpu-crunching/astropulse-for-ati-gpus-released.msg31201.html#msg31201 Make sure you meet their requirements:
Requirements:
1), 2):
ATI GPU 4xxx or 5xxx, ATI Stream SDK2.2 installed, CPU with SSE2 and better support, Catalyst 10.7b drivers.
[
for some hosts with only HD4xxx GPU installed additional environment variable may be needed: GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=256
To set it go My computer->Properties->Advanced->Environment variables (path can be slightly different in different windows versions). But before setting such variable run application and check stderr.
If you see line:
Global memory size:
with value >128MB - you don't need this environment variable
]
You can download SDK here: http://developer.amd.com/gpu/ATIStreamSDK/Pages/default.aspx

That's all I got, hope it helps! #ni-1
