According to the Boinc page there is not a single ATI GPU client for Linux.
Is this true, or does anyone know if there is an ATI GPU app for Linux somewhere?
Any non-Boinc projects? _________________

Then it is not listed in their applications list, but I will take your word for it. |

Very well!
A new (low power and fan-less) GPU has been ordered
Damn this stats thing! I've managed to keep out of the loop for a while, but with the recent climb in the overall Boinc stats, I feel I'm getting dragged in there again...

A GeForce one would be preferable.. I had a GNU/Linux box with an ATI GPU and swapped it for a GeForce one because I just couldn't get the work despite what the projects claimed. GPUGRID and Primegrid both work just fine on GNU/Linux with one of these badgers.

Phew!
Finally got the bloody thing to work...
Linux is not always the most user-friendly beast.
Up and running Collatz now
The 5570 (new card for the Linux box) should theoretically have 50% of the power of a 5750 (old card on the Windows box), but it seems that the WUs take about three times as long to complete. However, I am unsure if the credit is the same for Windows and Linux apps. Oh well, I'm just happy to be up and shrubbing with it.
Mr Sanders: I've not been able to locate the Primegrid application. Can you lead me to it?
Or will it install automatically if I just attach to Primegrid? (The Collatz app did not. I had to install it manually) _________________

Primegrid is a trial, you have to manually download and run. They now added a Windows ATI test.
Some day this may go into the wild. |

If you can't find it yourself, you're not worthy to run it, eh?
Oh well, found some stuff in the Primegrid forum. We'll see if I can get it running.

It beats Windows hands-down, especially if you pick the right distro (which depends on your needs).
Ubuntu for those with simple needs (I installed it on my netbook because everything just worked out of the box and that's what I wanted), Slackware for those of us who like to be able to configure our systems hard-core (I use that for my servers and custom desktops), (and redhat/suse for those who like bloat).
