With both of them down, come join me in the RC5-72 blitz...we can gain 2 DC vault points per position....and we are up 150 positions since I started....

Collatz isn't down, at least I'm still reporting results and receiving tasks. The server was very sluggish earlier today though, it took ~20 min to download 12 tasks @ 46bytes each.

How do you sign on to this? I have 1 cuda client running but how do you register with the project? Is there a team number to enter somewhere? Confused

http://www.distributed.net/Download_clients

D/L and extract the client you need

after you have the client running, and you have at least 1 stat unit completed, flush your work ( in the commands at the top of the client) and exit the program.

Wait a day for your stats to show up...you can find them here:

http://stats.distributed.net/projects.php?project_id=8

Once you have stats that show up, go to the team page here:

http://stats.distributed.net/team/tmsummary.php?project_id=8&team=3706

and click on the link to join the team at the bottom...

Thanks. Where do you register a username and password, though?

Search on your email address in the box at the top of the page of the user stats. If you have stats, you can then edit your info. You have to request your password, and it will be sent to the email address you signed up with...

Now, all we need is to get the stats figured out. Stats work fine on Dist.net, but it would be nice to see them on my Free-DC sig. Something gets screwed up when the quotes are in our name. I'm trying to find out more and if I do, I'll share it.

Is there any other good place for signature images that can handle non-boinc stuff? Tried dcstat, but they aren't doing Dist.net.

I'm having a lot of trouble keeping these running. If it's running well and I leave for a while, when I return it's no longer running, XPsp3:x86 client and AMD/ATI client, Win7-HP/64: AMD64 client and CUDA client.
On Win7-HP/32 the CUDA client is running slowly and sporatically.

I think my A/V (Vipre Premium) doesn't like it, it keeps jumping to 40-50% cpu usage instead of it's usual 0-2% Confused

Plus, on the Win7-64 system(Q9400) where the CUDA client is running with Folding's SMP client, the SMP client completes 1% of the task in 6min. alone but with the RC5-72 CUDA client working, using only 12% CPU cycles, the SMP takes 11min. to complete 1%.

I've had to restart the x86 client on the XP system 3 times while writing this post. As much as I hate BOINC's need to run in an administrator account, this is no fun at all. Sad

Seriously, how does this happen? For me, these clients crash 6+ times an hour. Confused Has anyone had them running stably?

All I have running is the ATI client for my 5770, and it runs fine. Might be something with the cuda version. Couldn't say.

CPU version, ATI version, CUDA version on XPsp3, Win7-32 & Win7-64 across 4 boxes. I suspect Vipre AV doesn't like it, I've pulled the ethernet cable from one and suspended active protection to see what happens. Rolling Eyes

I love when it runs on the 5770, though, peaks at over 1000000000 keys/sec!

Has anyone heard why DNETC went down and any news on it's return? I know they were doing some network infrastructure updates soon, but I did not believe it was supposed to be affected for days.
