|
Let's start the recruitment process for the next Prime Grid Challenge.
This time it is The Winter Solstice Challenge utilizing the AP26 application. Challenge will be 3 days starting 12/18/09. The AP26 is the most inclusive of all the Prime Grid applications including (new) CUDA. Too bad for me since I only have a couple of ATIs
We are currently holding on to ninth place in challenge points, but could slip if we don't get a good turn-out.
Anyways, I'm in! Anybody else? _________________

If your CPU will do 64 bit, try WUBI and install Linux...easy way to get more shrubs.... | a
I have tried that on a couple 3 boxes....
I am just not smart enough to install the Nvidia drivers for the video cards...
the ones on the site won't do Cuda, and it is dumb to hobble my cards to get 64 bit on the Cpu _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

You are right sir...Ubuntu and the AP26 CUDA don't mix well. Red Hat and CUDA mix well. But, if you have a CUDA less box, Wubi is the way to go...
I switched my single GTX260 to a XPx64 box last night...the other 2 are already in a XPx64 box... _________________

Hey wake up everybody! Very few are participating. Currently the team is back in 14th place with only 4 Knights shrubbing away.
We need to drum up some more interest...

I dunno what happened on that last update but I appear to have fallen on my head.
Edit: Interesting, now you've fallen on YOUR head. Maybe if we do that a few times we can make an awesome double helix chart. _________________

If you're talking about the PrimeGrid Thread that says:
Quote: | WU times (These need to be updated. Please post your current WU times in the AP26-runtimes for different apps and architectures thread.) All I did was double the last challenge times. |
...then, not necessary. They just wanted to get an idea of how long the WUs run over many different platforms and such. It's purely FYI.
P.S. Welcome Back! and Welcome to the Challenge! _________________

My secret weapon arrived today. I have my I7 and joined only PrimeGrid for the rest of the challange.
I cannot seem to get the GPU to work, though. So right now 8 at a time. (Anyone have suggestions on getting the GPU to work?) _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)
