Rats- I found the limit on my Boinc furnace. It is good down to 33 deg F.
As we are now @ 22 deg F, I started my RW furnace. Oh well.
14 machines running does heat the place pretty well though.
I have one more machine I can start up when the RMA for a MB gets here, but the only spare CPU I have is a 65 W AMD 3600 X2.
I am going to have to sit down and convert watts to BTUs and take a guess at how much heat these things actually put out.

My measly 2 1/2 machines (1/2 = PS3 lol) managed to keep our temps livable for awhile, but several days in a row below freezing at night crept our inside temp down to 60F tonight so I turned on the small space heater. So far so good, hovering close to the 65F I'm aiming for.

...down here in the Sunny South we have a woodstove "just in case"...and we get enough ice and sleet storms to make it real useful !!!

I'd love to, just can't afford more computers. Sad

It's supposed to get down to 25F today, 18F tomorrow, 10 the next day, and 14 the day after that. The computers will not be able to keep up for sure. Just spent 30 minutes outside and I can't feel my toes!

It dropped a good 20 degrees in the last day here. It is supposed to come up a bit tomorrow, then who knows. I have the RW furnace on (come on to help out the PC and lappy). Thw wife and kids have to desire to heat via Boinc...

Disappointment-
According to my estimates, the 15 machines I run draw roughly 3.023 kW. That translates to 10,318 BTU.
Not much of a furnace.
For my size house in Northern Ohio, 40,000-50,000 BTU's is recommended for the furnace size.
So Boinc only supplies 1/4 to 1/3 of my max demand.
(But the furnace doesn't kick on until the temp drops below 33 degrees).
