Only thing I noticed with POEM, was the credit allocation per hour spent crunching seemed kinda low compared to some projects #ni-1 What can I say, I know the science is the reason to do it; but I do look at credits also considering the sheer age of my PC now Laughing

Fpr my part, I have to believe in the science (e.g. it has to be actual science). Also, I like it to be something practical like physics (e.g. Leiden) vs Math (e.g. RCN). Not like I would have refused to do RCN, had it won. There are a couple of projects on the survey that I will never spend any CPU cycles on, though. Fortunately, none of them even came close to winning.

And getting paid is good. The constant devaluing of my hardware and electricity (by reducing payment), and their general attitude, is why I've essentially stopped computing for SETI. All other things equal (or even close to equal), I'll pick the project that pays better.

I just plugged the lappy back in and one Leiden unit ( Trajtou ) went from 90% to 1%. Do these units not checkpoint? I can't find any info on their website....
If they don't checkpoint and I can't opt out of that type of unit then it will limit the # of comps that I can put it on. I will not waste work units on machines that aren't always on....

They should checkpoint. I have never had a problem with them.

I've had 10 or 15 (out of 1000+) that "blew up" on me, so be warned- It can happen!
