Damn,...........
I came home and found all my machines with no work, ( I hit no new tasks on sunday) and so I attached all of them to poem before I found out about the challenge... I am attaching now....
Edit: my machine keeps BSoDing... the only way I can keep it on is to suspend Boinc..... Is anyone else having this problem????? _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I uninstalled 6.10.3 and deleted all registry entries then restarted the machine and reinstalled 6.10.3. It crashed after 1:15 running. I have now wasted 120 poem units and half a dozen prime and at least 1 GpuGrid unit.
So I dropped the multiplier from 17.5 to 17...........
it seems to be ok now.....
We shall see
something else thats odd is that it will only download one Gpu Wu and says that my machine won't finish a unit in time I have 2 video cards on this box???????
Quote: | 10/2/2009 6:06:43 PM GPUGRID Message from server: No work sent
10/2/2009 6:06:43 PM GPUGRID Message from server: (won't finish in time) BOINC runs 99.7% of time, computation enabled 96.2% of that

We could use all the help we can get, the 8th place team seems to be gaining on us.

Barely hanging onto 7th as of this hour. We might lose it and take the 8th spot.

Looks like we're solidly in 8th now.
@Papa - my XP-64 box has acted strangely ever since the switch to CUDA 2.3 and the 190.xx drivers. With three 260's in there, two cards ran normally, but the third lagged badly and Wednesday had 140 odd hours shrubbing a WU with 47% complete. I pulled all the cards, put in a new one and she was gone. A new mobo later and she's back up, but I've already had one BSoD and a couple of total lockups since replacing the board. It ran well overnight, so maybe It'll be okay _________________

Intel Core 2 Quad 9550

Now down to one Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 that's in a tiny case and overheats if I actually try to use all four cores at the same time. On the other hand, it makes for a very nice home theater PC
Intel Core i7 CPU 920

It still won't get Gpu work for the 8800, just the 9800. That is strange as I have an 8800 that is stand alone in another machine as well as an 8600 that are getting work. Just this box...... Both cards have 190.62 drivers, The problem seems to have started with the "upgrade" to 6.10.3 Boinc.... the reinstall didn't help at all........
Since 10/1 that box has errored out 7 of 8 Wu's. My Rac is looking pretty bad....
And I am running in my normal position in the Challenge, mid to high 50's _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Well I just finished reading a post http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=1407#13000
It seems that GpuGrid is not going to support Asymmetric Gpu installations.
So I guess that if you have multiple cards of different types (not brands) then you will not be able to run them together anymore.

If boinc sees both cards, wouldn't it be automatic? _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I dunno
It doesn't matter now anyway, I swaped it out with a 8600 that I had running on my son's computer. that one took 4 days to do one unit so less that 10k a week. the 8800 will get more than that in one day.
The longer term problem is that in order to use a multi slot board you will have to buy all your cards at the same time. If you wait you may not be able to get an exact match.
so......that 4 slot board of mine will cost $2400.00 in cards alone to bring up in the way I was thinking, That's kinda hard to take as my primary vehicle is worth a good deal less than that
