Milkyway has been giving

Quote:
10/1/2009 9:20:05 PM Milkyway@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance

for many hours now. I've got a couple WUs (3 hours total of processing time), in addition to time my BOINC client spent on other projects since the last d/l WU (total of 6 with both these fully processed); and it's just been sending this error to my client the whole time. The Milkyway server page shows

http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/server_status.php

Quote:
feeder milkyway Not Running
transitioner milkyway Not Running
milkyway_purge milkyway Not Running
milkyway_av milkyway Not Running
file_deleter milkyway Not Running

even though the scheduler and some other parts of the project shows as running. No idea as to when this maintenance will be over, or when we'll be able to turn in our results and get new work. The latest news from Sept 21 says it's backup, with no more recent news about today's downage.

Yeah, noticed... After all the lost credits from no Milkyway all yesterday, think I'll need to spend a day of crunching nothing but #ni-1

Focus on the Prime Grid Challenge, then recoup, we're in a race #ni-1 Didn't you tell me that once?

Just got the i7 up and running again. It was the mobo - Asus P6T.

Give me a B

Give me a I

Give me a T

I still am in the top 10, aren't I??? BTW...MW and Collatz are both shut down as NNT...just running out the cache...maybe an hour more...

Doesn't that suck when a MB gets toasted??? Good job on the quick fix...

Very Happy

Thanks. I planned to have a pair of i7's for this challenge, but the board for the new one came in handy to fix the old one. Guess it's time to get a new board. That CPU doesn't do a bit of good sitting in a drawer.

Take that CPU out of your drawers right this instant young man. Pervert!

Still cruising along just fine here. No BSoDs or failed hardware yet. Course, I just rebuilt a system a month ago cause it blew up, and I was supposed to be running another i7 by now... so... Sad

Uh oh, this is the prelude of something bad:

Quote:
10/4/2009 4:57:06 AM Milkyway@home Requesting new tasks
10/4/2009 4:57:11 AM Milkyway@home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
10/4/2009 4:57:11 AM Milkyway@home Message from server: Server can't open database

This followed access to the account page having been intermittent (page not found error from the link first go, but it got it the 2nd).

10/4/2009 2:19:39 AM Milkyway@home Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server

As they say... BOOM. <fires Collatz back up>

10/5/2009 1:43:40 AM Milkyway@home Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of de_s222_3s_random_3p_10r_21_2524053_1254731172_0_0
10/5/2009 1:43:41 AM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Was down again briefly, caused a bunch of work to stack up trying to report, and no tasks to download. Back on Collatz, let it queue up a few hours work and then NNT'd it. Will check again in the morning.

Yep, that's it. HD4870 and HD4890. Razz I only put the HD4890 on MW, but it's running down it's Collatz queue now so we'll see. The 4870 was doing ~80k/day on MW, so I imagine the 4890 should be tickling 100k/day. Combined with the rest that should be 180k/day or so (leaving the 4870 on Collatz).

All the rest are single precision and stay with Collatz. Collatz is worth vault points anyways, so it's worth keeping most on it heh.

Besides, when you say "that's it" does that mean you're telling the other 3800 members of the team they're not worthwhile? After all, if my RAC stabilizes at 180k that'd put me in the top 3 on the team. Razz

What drivers are you using for the 4890? 9.11?

Think I'm still on 9.10 actually on that box, yeah Collatz says 1.4.427 which is 9.10. The rest are still on 9.9 I think, showing 1.4.344.
