Congrats. Made it into the top 25 myself, barely holding on though with all this GPUGrid activity. Currently 22, but have fallen 2 this month, and sorted by RAC am way down at 34 again. Thankfully a lot of those folk have a long way to get up to my nearly 6m credits.
Got my broken PS3 back online (but still broken, no optical drive, but on the bright side that means 100% BOINC time), and it's on GPU and YOYO so that will help a tiny bit (I think it was running around 6k/day before? That would just barely get me back into the top 25 by RAC) but none of my PCs run NVIDIA so it won't help enough. As sad/funny/stupid as it may be, this has heavily influenced my next GPU buying decision. I was planning on an HD4890 but now it looks like I'm gonna have to get a big nasty GTX something-or-other. _________________

Jerwa, You might still want to get that ATI HD 4890. It will get you some serious RAC if you attach to milkyway. My 4870's get about 67K per day each. A 4890 should do better than that. Do go with one that has more than 256K RAM though. Mine have 1G. You'll need to download the new 0.19f version of MW. Currently MW is the only thing in BOINC running ATI cards I believe but more are soon to follow. There's talk of incorporating it in the core client just like nvidia.

Anyone have any luck mixing ATI cards? Yesterday I tried a 3850 with a 4870. The drivers all worked, but MW wouldn't run so I put in a second 4870 that I pulled from another machine and now it'll shrub 6 wu's at a time. I still have an empty slot that I'd like to put a 4850 in that's currently in another machine. I'd like to consolidate down a bit so I can shrink the active farm down to two PC's and a PS3 for the summer. The AC is starting to strain a bit so I wound up shutting down three machines yesterday. _________________

I'm having trouble holding on to the top 95. No matter how good a day I have lately, I seem to be losing ground. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Adam, are you using a dummy plug on the additional gfx cards or do you have monitors attached? I would like to put 2 4870's in a box but not sure how to go about it. The box has a 750W Zalwin power supply. That should do it don't you think? It's a Q9550 with 4G ram on a ASUS P5Q Deluxe MB. _________________

The Zalmin should work for you. I'm using a Corsair TX650 PSU and a Q6700 CPU and 4GB RAM with Vista 64. The monitor I'm using on that box has VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs so I connected one card to the VGA and another to the HDMI and it worked fine. I'd like to put the 4850 in there, too, but I don't think the PSU will handle it. I have a 1000W PSU in another box that I could swap, but I didn't want to go the effort unless someone else reported they've had success mixing cards. _________________
