Darn, I should have joined this project...
They didn't have any notice in their news saying all members will get free 5K or something like that? _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Looking at our stats page, it appears everyone on our cosmo team got 5000 credits. I wouldn't get too attached to them, it's likely an error.

Credit and Time Bound issues
April 28, 2009
A total of 5000 credits have been added to profiles of all active Csomo@home users. This is meant for expired/failed WUs due to project down-time and to compensate for the earlier low credit per WU payment for resource intensive CAMB 2.16 WUs. Also, the time bound for these new WUs has been incresaed from 10 days to 15 days which should be enough to complete crunching them even on machines ~5 years old.
I stand corrected.

I am sure they did not tell in advance so people would not create multiple users in order to get extra undeserved credit....
However I think some people did have a heads up, We had 10 new users join the project today, they all got credit. Lets see if they change teams later.... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Will it matter? as far as I know about boinc teams, what ever crunched for a team stays with the team, isn't it? _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Yeah, but it would go to their personal stats if they change the user name and team. Our team still gets the 50k but it is a Scam... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

They're peeps who'd joined the team, but hadn't shrubbed anything.
I wish all projects would do that - 5,000 Cobblies for zero effort, very nice. _________________ Creationists believe they never evolved; I agree with them.

I was shock as well but a visit to the main page clarified things. Thats a pretty socialist way of doing it, instead of giving everyone with credit a fixed % for "lost efforts" etc. _________________
