I sent the below to PAPPA, the Forum Moderator
Quote: | The problem is...
The 'Owner' of record is (for the moment at least) UNAVAILABLE!
You can find MANY of us discussing this in our Forum, but I didn't want to swamp YOUR Board too.
PLEASE drop by and read up on what's happening, and PLEASE STOP THIS 'Automatic' TRANSFER!
Thx in advance!
Gary / KWSN - PhastPhred |
I also received a PM from John McLeod VII saying for us to "[S]end an email to somebody@somewhere.at.a.college.near.you.edu explaining the situation."
I told him I'd pass this info along...
I'd guess I'll back out and leave the older ones to handle it from here on out...
Scratch that - The (ahem) more experienced ones...

OK, the way it is SUPPOSED to work.
Only a team member can ask for a team founder change.
Once that team member leaves the team, the founder change request is canceled.
Only one team founder change can be requested every few (6?) months.
You can have David Anderson, Matt Lebofsky, or Eric Korpela look into it.
It is currently Easter weekend. I would not expect to see any of them in the office until around 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Savings time (UTC -9?) tomorrow. |

Well see the problem is even if I wanted to request a transfer I have to wait until this fellow either gets it or not. You can not have two requests at the same time.

As it's not working the way it's supposed to (he's not on the team, so he shouldn't have been able to request it and if he was, then the request should have died when he left the team) so as soon as they have that fixed you should jump on it and guard it and leave nothing but a field of bones as a warning to all who may trespass with or without an enchanter.

Okay folks time to cancel the red alert, the fellow is no longer requesting the transfer, instead I have requested the transfer. It might be denied if the person who has the founder account notices, but if I get it I will either sit on it or else pass it on to someone like MacG who is active in SETI.

Got a Post from Rhe on the SETI Boards:
Quote: | Unread Message 884887 - Posted 13 Apr 2009 8:08:08 UTC - in response to Message 884817.
Also, if I remember correctly (i.e.-the way it's supposed to work)) is the team founder has two months to respond to and reject the new transfer request...
I hate to see something like this happening to any team, but especially KWSN. Ya'll hold a special place in my heart for...various reasons.

A big Thank You to our own Warm-n-Fuzzy KillerRabbit for 'jumping' in!

Thank you for the PM with your concerns. Sorry for the delay
The Moderators have no ability to cancel Team Leadership Change Requests.
I have sent your concerns up to the Admins to see if they can address the concern.
Please allow some time for them to investigate the issue.

I responded back to let him know that the situation had already been resolved. Nice people that work there.

It seems that are mysterious and never appear leader has disagreed with my tactics in handling this situation. As a conseqeunce I have been banned from our channel on IRC with no explanation, I had to find out through someone else on the channel why I was banned, since he ignored my messages and attempts at explaining myself.
I do not wish to bring this up, but it seems with a leader who is not active in the team is really no leader at all; and one who rushes to judgement should be removed. I know this message will probably either be erased or get me banned, so hopefully a few people will be able to see it before that happens.

I don't get it... why he's active at IRC but can't visit here once a week? and why to ban you in the first place? _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

I didn't know anything about Irc...
I have read and remembered your message...
But I find it hard to believe that either or banning or erasure will occur here.. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......
