Version 6.6.20 for Windows is available. Here's the link:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

Latest change notes:
Quote:
Version 6.6.20
released: 9 Apr 2009

* New client-side CPU & GPU scheduler
* New work-fetch policy for better management of CPU and GPU work queues
* Improved BOINC Manager network connectivity
* Consolidation of the grid/accessible advanced views.

Looks like this version makes better use of the NVIDIA Cuda system.

Note: if your computer is equipped with an NVIDIA Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), you may be able to use it to compute faster:

Any Knights using this version yet? Cuda vs. non-cuda? Running smoothly, faster, better?

Just downloaded and installed. So far, the only thing I noticed is this in the Messages that replaced the old one:

Quote:

4/11/2009 9:01:04 AM CUDA devices: GeForce 8800 GT (driver version 17943, CUDA version 1.1, 512MB, est. 63GFLOPS), GeForce 8800 GT (driver version 17943, CUDA version 1.1, 512MB, est. 63GFLOPS)

Good info that will help figuring out driver and CUDA versions.

edit: Oh, and the Tasks grid now shows "Elapsed" instead of the CPU time. It appears to take into consideration the amount of time spent on CUDA apps now.

nu!

Version 6.6.28 is out. That makes 8 updates in about a month? Looks like they've been fixing a lot of stuff for GPU's. They list 6.6.29 below, but I guess that one isn't quite ready...

Hi, since one month, I use BOINC 6.6.20 on my 3 QUAD's, also trying CUDA, at the moment @ GPUgrid.
Works fine, with CUDA devices, too. And the timing estimates
for CUDA.

In the mean time, I'm trying to get my app_info.xml file working for SETI.

Use 6.6.36 and the Lunatics Unified Installer...gives you everything you need, including the app_info.xml file and puts it where it should be...
