New projection is May 9th after the latest update. Cool Seems that I named the rig appropriately. "The_Black_Beast" Shocked . I'll try and take some pics and post. It really looks good. I still have'nt OC'd it yet. I want to see what it can do with no tweaking first.
The card I bought is a 4870 Saphire with 1G gddr5. It suposedly can get 100K per day if you can keep it fed. I have alot of tasks finishing in under 1 second of CPU time. Most run for almost 2 minutes.
MW is talking about making the GPU units about 100 times as long now though. The're also spliting the project up CPU/GPU. There aren't supposed to be any changes to the CPU version.
The credits are supposed to be the same for GPU and CPU. IE. GPU runs 100 times as long, you get 100 times the credit so it should all be the same. There is supposed to be a CUDA version of MW coming soon as well.
<EDITED 2 times for more details>
Here is the complete system.

Antec 900 Case
ASUS P5Q Deluxe LGA 775 Intel P45 Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz
ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model
SAPPHIRE HD 4870 1GB
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W PS
XP Professional SP2C 64-bit

I hope they get it out soon. Right now I've got two 3850's and another gets delivered tomorrow, but now I'm thinking I should have just bought one 4870 because I'm have issues on where to put the things. Can't wait for the official roll out and CUDA #ni-1

Do you know whether or not the RAM makes much of a difference or do the calcs rely mainly on the processor?

I have a total of 4G ram and task manager says that I have 2.7G free right now. That's running MW on the GPU three units at a time plus 4 POEM units running on the CPU. I think the CPU does the calcs for MW. Hope that helps. #ni-1

Sorry I wasn't clear before. I meant the RAM on the graphics card. Is there a big difference in MW between the 1 GB card and the 512k card?

Not sure on that one. That's why I got the 1G version. More isn't always better but it can't hurt.

True...and the price difference isn't much.

Gotta gat one of them ATI thingys to get that production...

My 4x3850's are doing about 15-18k a day....each...IF I can keep them fed...

If there was unlimited work for them, I would expect about 25k a day each...

Do you have each of them in a separate box? I've got two in the same box (#3 on the way) and I'm not getting anywhere close to 15-18k per day, although I can get >16k per day running it CPU on my i7.

I have them all in separate boxes. That makes 4 with 3850s and now 2 with GTX260s (got the second 260 installed before work...just have to install the drivers and attach to GPUGrid).

Thanks...With the way MW works now, that seems like the best way to go, but if the new version works like GPUGrid, multiple cards in the same box works fine. I'm starting to run out of slots to put these things.

They've been getting plenty of business from me. Between Newegg, Tiger and Microcenter I think I get a couple of deliveries a week. Lately, the effort has been toward cooling the existing machines. Now I'm about ready to get back into farm expansion mode.

So ni which sounds like zo niet which is "not that way" in dutch Wink
