This is a different way to track how we are doing in BOINC projects. It is similar to DC Vault but scores differently. Each calander year is treated as a season. And for a project to qualify to award points there must be 1 million total points that is crunched in a year. The top 8 teams get points, but it is not based on overall position but how well you do in that year. So in the SHA-1 we are 2nd so far this year and have 8 points from it. But you can lose points as well. The only time the points do not change is at the end of year and then a new season starts. 2009 is the 3rd season, and last year we finished tied for 24th. This year we are 29th with only 10 points and most of that from SHA-1. Here is a link: http://www.myboinc.com/FormulaBoinc/index.php?year=2009

Yet more stats.

I used to watch Formula 1 racing, so I like this concept. I take it our goal should be to achieve at least 8th place in as many projects as possible? That could be extremely difficult.

My caveman brain can't conceive how KWSN can be in third place in Vault, but tied for 29th place with 6 other teams in Formula Boinc? Something doesn't see right...

This could further complicate our POTM calculations! Laughing

I wonder if the lower-total projects, like VTU and GenLife, would offer us the best chance for the top spots? (and why is VTU still 'blacklisted'?)

I believe we can petition to unblacklist VTU. Simple for Formula 1 they just do how much you have produced so far this year. In DC Vault it is more than just BOINC projects and how much you have produce overall.
